Re: Frustrating NHS Rejection and Argumentative GP

Hi Sorry not to be welcoming you in better circumstances. I guess you could make a formal complaint against your GP though it does sound like she softened and appears more on your side after you broke down. You could also write to your NHS Trust's ICB and/or complain to your MP. Regrettably the NHS ...

Re: No one seems to mention video lessons for driving

While I don't drive myself (too visually impaired) I definitely look at YouTube if I need info on how to approach a problem.

Re: my boyfriend has dyspraxia and i don't know how to approach splitting up chores, cause i'm doing so much rn

Hi Every dyspraxic is an individual and there could be numerous reasons. These might include a fear of doing things badly or wrong because with others it has spiralled into conflict further decreasing his self-esteem and willingness to try. For example at home no one gave him opportunity to learn ho...

Re: Recommendations for private dcd assessment

Hi, can I ask whether this was in the UK? My Dr wondered about an OT but decided to refer me to a physiotherapist in the end. My appointment is this Thursday!!! Hi Asti Yes it was a UK member posting. Some OTs can confirm Dyspraxia or provide a report for another Medical professional to rubber stam...

Re: Falling under stress/ anxiety

I can't claim to have dyspraxia, but I do understand how challenging it can be when stress messes with your focus and even your physical coordination. Plenty of people discover and/or have good cause to believe they might but struggle to get professional confirmation as provision is largely not the...

Re: Fatigue midweek at work

Hi Sam? Welcome to your Tribe. e often have to put more effort in to stay on top of everything This can be mentally and physically exhausting. Are you exceeding or having to exceed your contracted hours to keep up. Are you maintaining a healthy work/life balance? I find I can be overly conscientious.

Re: Eyesight and Dyspraxia

It's natural to wonder about potential connections between dyspraxia and differing eyesight levels, especially within your family. Dyspraxia affects coordination, while variations in eyesight levels may stem from genetics or other factors. Research is ongoing, and consulting healthcare professional...

Re: Solo Travel

One destination I'd highly recommend for solo travel is Manuel Antonio in Costa Rica. It's a stunningly beautiful place with plenty to see and do, from hiking through the rainforest to relaxing on the beach. Do you have any other recommendations? Costa Rica seems far for me. Regrettably I have deep...

Hi Kaz Welcome to the Forum and your tribe. Glad you've found us. We welcome those who are self-discovered /declaring equally. There's a fair amount of shared traits with Autism and ADHD so it can be quite tricky to nail down whether we might also fall into one of the other categories and the overlo...

Re: Work based advice

Hi Andrew Welcome to the Forum. The legislation for the rights and protections for people with dyspraxia comes under the Disability protections in the Equality Act 2010. The GMB Union have a downloadable guide to Dyspraxia in the Workplace. There's no software designed specifically for dyspraxia but...

Re: Gardening

Hi Tim

egrettably we're not as busy as Social Media where a lot of the discussion is.
We've had professionals in the Horticultural mention gardening before.

While the pace is slower here that can be a distinct advantage sometimes too.

Re: Issues with my long term partner (5 years)

Hi Guys, Hope everyone is well. Hopefully you can help me out and give me some advice and ways to improve. Bit of background on myself, as a child I was diagnosed with Dyspraxia, it didn't really affect co-ordination but more speech, and I underwent a lot of speech therapy growing up. I am now 27, ...
