Re: Dyspraxia without diagnosis

Hi Skyrocket and a warm welcome back to our community here It's definitely more difficult when the only way you seem to stand out is in the wrong way. Even with a formal diagnosis, recognition and the right help are sometimes very difficult to find and will probably involve a battle. I would say a g...

Re: How to drive better

Hi Screen

Not my area of expertise but sorry to hear of your mishap, I hope no one was harmed?
Without knowing more it would be wrong to apportion cause or blame to any one factor and I suspect there is no easy way to banish the cause of your tiredness and stress?

Re: Online Dating Progress

I'd agree with Jim in that it is a good idea to take a break. I find that I do put a lot of pressure on myself through my attempts at finding love and that this is sadly counterproductive. On one hand I feel I need to be doing something but on the other hand that something seems to make me miserable...

Re: Hello

Hi Victoria and welcome Getting formal diagnosis as an adult is unfortunately often quite difficult and there is no a doubt a large number of people who have never been formally diagnosed (and some may have chosen not to). I hope you find our community helpful. My personal opinion is that even if yo...

Hi and welcome I think I'd share the same worries. Can you find out about the place and find out about how they operate (do they have any info on a website/FAQs for example? It school i believe I went quad biking, think it may have been in France during a school trip and it was a long time ago (25yr...

Hi Ebolababe and welcome to our community It's hard to answer your 'questions' and really only you can. However I want to offer some ideas You evaded diagnosis for 20 years which shows you can function. 'Normal' is subjective but I think most people would like to be different to how they are. Gettin...

Re: Hello! New (potentially) dyspraxic from Canada

Hi Allyz and welcome. I agree with Jim in that there is no shame in being different but appreciate you do feel bad all the same. People sometimes can't comprehend that I don't drive and sadly there's no getting away from the fact it does tend to limit ones options. While I have a visual impairment a...

Re: Feeling Pathetic

You have a right to your days off whether or not you have plans. It's not wrong to question why you've been rostered on those days. It could be a genuine error by whoever drew up the rota. You might choose to say well I want thos day but I could do that day. Where does being inadequate or pathetic c...

Re: Dyspraxia and sexuality

Point well made on absurdity of the finger length thread. I'm sure you can accept that some people keep their options very open and don't differentiate between the sexes .Everyone has thieir own way of thinking and as long as they take care not to force that view (or themselves) on others it should...

Re: Nerves when speaking to people for the first time

If it`s any consolation I`ve had situations where to me everything seems to be sliding into chaos but when someone has asked me to tell them what it is wrong I cannot for the life of me come up with an answer and of course I then worry that they think I`m useless and making something out of nothing ...

Re: Nerves when speaking to people for the first time

I think this should be the stage where I clarify that a med student= in university; not a doctor. It's not that I fear anything specific about the situation, it's just entering random social situations seem to terrify me, I'm fine during and after them, but I have this moment of apprehension before...
