Re: Advice for driving
I find every new leaning activity takes me a little longer than other people but I try to see the positives that I get there in the end and I find when the pressure is on it makes me panic and all my brain is thinking " I'm going to fail or I can't do this etc " so try to relax everything...

Re: Dyspraxia and diet
I agree that it may be hard to spot the changes, but either way there isn't anything lost by taking them. I read that vitamin B can be good for giving energy, so I'm currently trialling that in combination with the change to my diet. I also hear that vitamin D can be beneficial. Do you take a parti...

Re: shocked how to say no
If she knows you're unemployed, it's absurd she's asking you. You could even tell her something along the lines of, "As you know, I'm unemployed at present. Consequently, I need to make sure I have enough money to eat, keep a roof over my head and pay for travel to interviews for the next few m...

Re: Dyspraxia or under confidence?
Welcome to the site, Annie.
In my highly unqualified opinion, it sounds as if it is likely you have dyspraxia. If you are able to, it's worth getting assessed. I wasn't done till I was well into my 30s. However, it does give you some peace of mind.

Re: Helping my son with dyspraxia as I have it too
I was even told at one point before diagnosis that as my husband spoke Welsh and my self English we were confusing him and that's why he did not form proper words etc. Which I knew was rubbish. Absolutely right Sheryl. For one thing dyspraxics are often better at languages than others (high sensory...

Re: Kayaking
otis_b_flywheel's post part 4 I'm in danger of getting carried away here, but one last point - the great thing about paddlesports is the huge variety of craft, from a sit-on-top to a whitewater racer (seriously tippy) to an expedition sea kayak to an open canoe to a surf kayak to a stubby little wh...

Re: Kayaking
otis_b_flywheel's post part 3 You probably could get something useful from YouTube, but paddling is very much about learning by doing. There is a very good instructional DVD Whitewater Kayaking by Canadian guru Ken Whiting. It’s a few years old but hasn’t dated much apart perhaps from some of the b...

otis_b_flywheel, This is part 1 of the post that you were having problems with the other day and so sent as a personal message to me. I am doing it in several parts because I think the post is too long for the system to accept. otis_b_flywheel wrote : I'm delighted that kayaking has found its own th...

Re: Dyspraxia and diet
I have been talking these (fish oil tablets)for a while :) I figured that it's easy to take them, so i may as well give them a try. Hoping to see some long term results I have also being doing for a while. It's very hard to know whether they are improving things in terms of mental functioning since...

Hi Tom and others, I've been trying to post a reply here but keep getting the message 403 Forbidden Access to this resource on the server is denied! Any ideas? Thanks I'm just testing it now to see if I get the same problem. It looks OK. I am a complete dunce when it comes to IT, so I'm afraid I ha...

Re: Kayaking
I've had some paddling related (mis)adventures in guided outings in Kayaks, Canadian Canoes and White Water Rafts and at least lived to tell the tale. I'm probably enough to cause many instructors the heebie jeebies with my ineptitude but If I'm a paying customer I want them to be on their toes tho...

Re: Advice for driving
Hello everyone I'm new to the dyspraxia adults forum and was wondering if I could get some advice on the challenging feature of my life that is driving ( I do my lessons in a manual) . My name is Samuel Ivey and I'm an 18 year old male with dyspraxia who in particular has found driving to be very d...
