Re: Not sure whether this has a name/is dyspraxia related
Um, I know this was originally posted months ago, but I'm new here and just saw it. I get little involuntary jerks too. My partner first noticed it when I'm falling asleep (I think that's fairly normal), but they also happen at random other moments too. Like when holding a pan, or writing, or often ...

Re: Looking after a house!
I get you. I grew up learning how to do the things, but never really being very good at them. My first childminder person taught me how to fold up clothes to put them in the drawer, but I always struggled to make everything fit... And I only learned about 6 months ago that you can use the wardrobe f...

Re: Filling the mug with when making a hot drink..
My problem is that I don't compensate - even for the milk! Probably because I've had similar comments to what I've just read a lot of other people have had. The thing about getting half a cup, etc. So I fill the cup with water, and then realise that I haven't left space for milk...

Re: Is there a link between dyspraxia and misinterpretation?
You sound so much like me. To be honest I have wondered a lot recently whether I may be on the ASD spectrum but I'm not 100% sure where the overlaps are...

Re: Looking after a house!
I’m a current Scout (section leader for a troops in Leeds)! And it’s the same, be very much prepared for an almighty mess. Haha I know what you mean about shifting stuff from one corner to another! I make piles... the “upstairs” pile, the “shelf” pile, the “kitchen” pile, the “recycling” pile... and...

Re: Is there a link between dyspraxia and misinterpretation?
I've been told in the past that my tone of voice was wrong, too loud, too quiet, etc. I don't think it's just you! And I've ended up arguing with people before just because of a misinterpretation.

Looking after a house!
Hi all, I live alone (my partner comes to visit me often, she lives in Cheshire, I'm in Yorkshire), and probably one of my biggest causes of stress is looking after my house. I just can't do it! Can't keep it tidy, can't keep on top of the washing up or laundry, can't even contact the landlord for r...

Re: Manual Labour and Dyspraxia
I don't have any advice, but have you spoken to your manager about your difficulties? They have to make reasonable adjustments to allow you to work, and if they don't/won't then they're discriminating. They may be able to find ways to support you.

Re: Greetings from Leeds
Hi Tom, thanks for your reply! I could find the report from the assessment, but it's not easily to hand. Yeah, Irlens is very similar to Dyslexia in a lot of ways but apparently they also test for Dyspraxia now as well. From what I understand, most people with Irlens experience dyslexic and/or dyspr...

Greetings from Leeds
Hi. I'm Sarah, and this sounds really daft but I'm not sure whether I have a formal diagnosis of Dyspraxia or not. When I was at uni, I was assessed for Irlens syndrome (long story short, it was identified but I now disagree). Part of that process was a 5 hour long dyslexia and dyspraxia assessment,...
