Re: Friendship/relationship advice
The delicate topic of human relationships, romantic or otherwise, is always a tough thing to advise on because it's never a black and white issue. However, I'll give you my opinion, as a 50 something with a few failed relationships behind him. Reading between the lines, it seems to me that just mayb...

Re: Dyspraxia affecting work speed?
I haven't had a manual job for over 20 years, so my difficulties are well and truly past me. I went back to university at rather a late age and my life blossomed since. I think a lot of dyspraxics benefit from sticking out the education system for as long as they can, so that they can get into work ...

Re: Fish oil and gluten free diets?
I have backpedalled on this subject in the last few months. I read a few months back in an alternative health care book that fish oil intake is associated with development of diabetes. My high intake of fish oil may have been the reason for the prediabetes that I had a while back. Since coming off t...

Thanks Ram This is really interesting. You're very welcome, Tom. I hope it of of interest to a few members of this site but of course, I don't want to put everyone off with over zealous enthusiasm! I should mention that there are a lot more youtube videos on the Original Strength system, including t...

Re: Dyspraxia affecting work speed?
MY QUESTION to all of you: Do you think Dyspraxia is the reason why I am slower than other people? From your own experiences/general knowledge of the condition? (P.S. With glass cleaning, I feel I have to look harder as I know I'll miss something, but I always do a thorough job. Does this sound fam...

Re: Vestibular System
Hi Jenny, I've been meaning to write a post on this topic for a while. Your post has prompted me to do this. I have been using a system called Original Strength for about three months. This system is based on a theory that by doing infant movements such as rocking, rolling and crawling, an adult can...

Re: Finding a hobby(for dyspraxics!!!)
I rather like this thread because it's brought together a good range of interests. The main things that I look forward to at the weekend are sailing and kayaking. I also enjoy hiking.

Re: So happy it's not just me!
Welcome. I hope that this site helps you come to terms with everything. I should also point out that Dyspraxia is also known as Developmental Coordination Disorder in some countries. It is also considered to be part of the Autistic Spectrum Disorder by some experts.

Re: Finding a hobby(for dyspraxics!!!)
I wasn't particularly enamoured with Mary Colley's book since generally I don't like to be constrained by other peoples notions of what I can or cannot do. I hope she'd be impressed that Dyspaxic people aren't necessarily accepting her work as definitive in terms of what they are prepared to consid...

Re: Defining oneself as dyspraxic - or not?
I’m interested in the fact that some on this forum choose to define themselves (inwardly or to others) as dyspraxics whilst others do not. This of course is a matter of personal choice, but I would be pleased to learn peoples’ reasoning for plumping for one or the other option, and also what you co...

Re: Could I have Dyspraxia?
Hello! I was wondering if I could reach out and ask for some opinions for people who...sort of understand. I was considering going for a rest for dyspraxia, but I was...worried about wasting the GP's time. A little bit of background - I'm a 20 year old female from the UK, suffering from two anxiety...

Re: Are you an introvert or an extrovert?
Definitely along the introverted side of the spectrum. I don't know if that is my innate nature or whether it is a default response to my less than stellar popularity as a child and young adult.
