Re: Feel so trapped and ill

I'm so sorry you're in this position. I know exactly what it feels like to feel 'trapped and ill' by a work situation. The hours do sound awful so I can't really blame you. I sincerely hope you are able to work this out.

Re: Environment/Sound Sensitivity

No, I'm actually very noise sensitive . I can't watch anything on TV that is too loud like people screaming or yelling or war scenes, etc. I just turn the channel. Can't stand bars/clubs with loud music. I sleep with ear plugs on and sometimes if there's a lot of noise outside I just wear the ear pl...

Re: Not always understanding things straight away?

Oh God, it depends on the situation. If it has to do with logic (such as computers) and contains many steps, then forget it. I have to have it written down and have to practice it a million times otherwise forget it.

Re: What do non-dyspraxic people think about the dyspraxic ?

There are very few people in America who have even heard of dyspraxia. Most people think I'm ADD if they know me well enough to see the symptoms that is(such as a work situation). Otherwise, I can blend in quite well because my verbal IQ is quite high; unfortinately, when my working memory doesn't m...

Re: Dyspraxia/ADHD Medication & Concentration

I've been on virtually all of the ADD medications because in America if you have dyspraxia you're far more likely to be diagnosed with ADD than dyspraxia. Anyway, they help a little just as they would help anyone to do things more quickly. But not a lot unfortunately. There does seem to be a great d...

Re: Dyspraxia affecting work speed?

It takes me forever to get documentation of sessions finished online. I get about ten minutes between sessions to do it but I have to walk clients to the door and usually have to go to the bathroom between sessions, reducing that to about four minutes. Very little time ti navigate this complex non-u...

Re: bad day at work feel like crying:(

I completely get it. I've been having a very difficult time at a job I just started in September. The irony is that I am great at my actual job but not good with learning computer systems. There is a lot of documentation associated with this job, and navigating the computer system has been extremely...

Re: Bullying at work

yes, I've experienced that at many of the jobs I've had. I've recently been dealing with it at a new job I've had since September--the sighs the looks--the exasperated expressions, etc. It's been very painful.

Hi everyone I'm new

Hi, my name is allesandro and I'm new to this. I just recently found out I'm dyspraxic after having been misdiagnosed as ADHD. I'm sure I have some some of that however I think that is a comorbidity associated with not having ever been properly diagnosed. In the US most people have never even heard ...

Re: Dyspraxia and stress - is this normal?

I think it is normal, at least for me anyway. when I'm majorly stressed out I become extremely reclusive. I don't want anyone to see me so distant and far away looking. It always leads to the inevitable: "what are you thinking about?" "where are you?" "what's wrong?" It...
