I associate colours with days, people and things etc. Not sure that's quite the same thing :)

Re: Possessiveness

I think other people have mentioned this before - that we become attached to 'things' more than other people do and so I guess it is logical that we become more attached to people than others do. So, for example, I have one pen and one pencil that I like to use for prepping my work at home and I hav...

Re: coping with exams

another technique that has always helped me is not doing things in the 'normal' way...revising for my GCSEs I used to take my notes outside and walk round and round the garden learning them...shorten things you need for an essay to letters ANGKHG each corresponding to an idea you want to use - as so...

Re: Anybody meditate?

I've found mediation and yoga really help with stress relief - not the mad complex yoga where you need to be uberflexible and have wonderful motor skills I hasten to add!!! but the kind where all you need to be able to do is breath! :) some lovely mediations by Thich Nhat Nanh - really short and can...

Remarkably Good reflexes

Just wondered if any of you have remarkably good reflexes but are useless when it comes to doing the same things but through actual purposeful thought? For example, if someone shouts at me "Catch!" and then hurls a ball at me, I won't catch it. Never. 100% failure rate. Guaranteed. However...

Re: dyspraxia sleeping problem/fears...

Takes me hours to drop off too! No matter how tired I am!!! Grrrrr.... :D

So always tired tooo....

when I was a kid my imagination kept me awake too - I had bizarre fears - not of the dark, but other weird things...thankfully that doesn't happen so much now - as life is weird enough! ;)

Re: Struggling to find love

So, what I'm saying is that sometimes it's easy for people with dyspraxia to find themselves being friends with the wrong kinds of people, which makes it more difficult to find a partner to have a relationship with. I also think we can find ourselves in relationships with people we shouldn't be wit...

Re: memory getting worse, or just needing it more?

sorry brain not working properly today...meant to also say about future things. I FORGET EVERYTHING!!! The only way I can get round this is to religiously write everything I need to do and everywhere that I need to be down. I don't have a to-do list, I have a book - seriously! I also carry my work d...

Re: memory getting worse, or just needing it more?

kids remember more stuff. doesn't matter if you are dyspraxic or not, from puberty you are doomed! :D the weird thing is though you probably remember odd things from when you were a kid that you wouldn't find you could remember now - songs, lines from plays stuff like that. the old enemies of tiredn...

Re: Hearing everything all at once?

Just had a thought - it is really the same as I think you do at the rock concert but don't realize you are doing it. To enjoy it you must have learnt (probably from practice and love of rock :D) to block out the other people. It's pretty much the same thing :D I too am freaked out by large numbers o...

Re: Hearing everything all at once?

I have to say though that I've learnt to use the hearing everything to my advantage and over many, many, years have taught myself how to listen to many conversations at once and be able to tune in and out of them. Awsome :) how'd you do that ? It would be so useful. Not sure if I can explain Captai...

Re: Hearing everything all at once?

agree - many people (and yes, I must admit it is usually women) speak way too fast and I have to really concentrate on every word to understand what they are saying. I have to say though that I've learnt to use the hearing everything to my advantage and over many, many, years have taught myself how ...

Re: reading , a different intepretation

For me it is a big part of Aladdin. Stress, tiredness and not feeling well all take their tole on my ability to be able to function. The more tired I am the less well I read, spell, can walk down stairs, tell left from right etc etc. If I am ill my inability to cope with words and info results in a ...
