Re: handwriting

My hand writing does'nt tend to get bigger or smaller but it does deteriorate especially in pressure situations, I think its cos of my poor motor control and the fact that I cant concentrate on controlling my hands under pressure.

Decided to learn to drive ... any tips ?

Hello all, I've decided that 2014 is going to be the year where I finally try and learn to drive (I think its high time at 30 even if I'm not looking forward to it :) ). I have poor spatial awareness and fine motor control so I'm kinda terrified at the prospect but I've gotta give it a go, I've had ...

Re: Wanting to do a PGCE...

Id ask at the disability support unit of the uni(s) you want to go to , now you have an official diagnosis you should be able to get provisions put in place to help you through and they maybe able to make grade allowances because of your disability, obviously they cant change your grade but they may...

Re: Being called dumb?

Hi Katie, Your not dumb you just learn and think differently to other people and that's not necessarily a bad thing. If other people cant understand that then its their issue not yours, the way I see it is this; the only true idiot is some one who doesn't want to learn not some who finds it difficul...

Merry Christmas and a happy new year.

Hi all,

I don't get the chance to visit as much as I used to so while I'm on I just thought I'd wish you all a very merry Christmas and a happy and successful new year. :D

Re: overthinking things

Yeah, I often find my self loosing sleep over some relatively minor comment I've made or incident I may have been part of 999 times out of 1000 it will end up being nothing but that doesn't stop you worrying about it.

Re: Ageing

As far as I know dyspraxic is not a degenerative condition although your reactions do slow as you get older anyway, you may be experiencing the the cumulative effects of both. Are you particularly tired/stressed at the mo ? Because I'm very similar to what you your describing when I'm under pressure...

Re: Being tired

Yeah I tend to be come tired very easily, think it is a creative has said because things just tend to need more effort on our part than for non dyspraxics, in my case I don't sleep much either which doesn't help.

Re: Can Dyspraxia Lead to Anxiety Disorders?

I certainly think being dyspraxic make you more prone to being anxious (I know it does with me). Like the others have mentioned I think a lot of it is to do with the fact that or condition means we have to deal with the world slightly differently than most and this can some times make us feel like w...

Re: Out of positivity...

I know the feeling your definitely not on your own we all feel like this sometimes but all you can do is keep plugging on things will improve ;).
Maybe talking about it would help ? what is it that's getting you down ? or is it just life in general?

Re: Any tips for winding down after work?

I slept okay, but I'd wake up after a couple of hours after dreaming about work. Yup, I do that a lot, I think it made worse by the fact that I'm still on three month probation (not cos I've messed up its just standard policy) so I'm even more stressed because until that's up they have the right to...
