Re: Dyspraxicia costs
It's expensive for me in that I go to the supermarket to buy, say bread, and come out without it, but with loads of other stuff. When I do go back to buy the bread I find I buy lots of other stuff, though I am trying to be stricter.

Re: Little things making me feel stupid at work.
I would have a quiet word with someone dealing with your placement and let them know. If you are doing well in other aspects of the job this will help even out the balance with the aspects you struggle with. I had a similar situation at work, but I had 8 people standing watching me and waiting for t...
Re: Reading
I love reading. I have been off sick recently and have read loads. I wore glasses from an early age so I was never going to be sporty..Perhaps thats why I read so much.

Re: Light bulb moment
Sorry I can't help, I was diagnosed in my 40s. I know though that it would have helped me to have been diagnosed much younger, then support could have been put in place. Now that you know, you can help, that's what matters.

Re: Saw the educational psychologist on Wednesday
I was diagnosed with dyspraxia and dyscalculia. I was relieved as it explained so much, but once it had sunk in I was sad that I hadn't been diagnosed earler. I am in my late 40s and was diagnosed about 3 years ago. I think having a much earlier diagnosis would have helped so much at school and univ...

Re: Confidence
Confidence is difficult to feel, but you can pretend. Sometimes when you act confident you can almost feel it. I suspect that many people aren't that confident, but they act as if they are.

Re: Writing and Dyspraxia

I totally agree that before I have finished writing a sentence my brain will have moved on somewhere else, This problematic when I am speaking as I can be saying something and my brain will wander off. i find myself saying &...

Re: Writing and Dyspraxia
I can only speak for me...I was a uni student and have gone back and am studying counselling. I developed my own shorthand which no one else could read. But even now, I find myself writing so much in lectures etc that I am not taking it in, I find though, that writing what is being said helps keep m...

Re: Coming out as Dyspraxic after 2 months at work
I think you should have a quiet word with him and let him know, apart from anything else, that you have to take notes. It would be a shame if he had a bad impression of you, you might lose further contracts with them. Although he does sound a bit of a knob...

If I am tired it seems to make my dyspraxia worse. I get clumsier and can't take in information.
