Re: Does Anyone have Kids or want Kids

For me the question is, Is it a forgone conclusion that we would pass our difficulties on to our offspring? Can we as Dyspraxic/neuro diverse types not make a useful and valid contribution to society or do we sit back and let others dare to see us/dismiss us as oxygen thieves? Whilst learning disab...

Re: Keeping Current With Fresh Posts

I don't know that one can compare spoken dialogue from a TV show with written text. The latter has no facial expression, no tone or voice inflection, etc. Therefore it might be good idea to ask for clarification when in doubt. I do, however find it interesting that just one little word could elicit...

Re: Keeping Current With Fresh Posts

[ Me thinks the lady doth protest too much. All I said was 'seriously?' The rest was your projection; those are your words not mine I apologize if my previous post was too harsh. It seems as if our wires have got inadvertently crossed. The word 'seriously' is not much used as a one word utterance o...

I also despise hot temperatures, although it doesn't cause nausea for me.

Re: Keeping Current With Fresh Posts

Can see views on this are somewhat polarised. If it were possible being able to 'like' a post, it could give the poster a sense that his or her post/response had been at least acknowedged but sometimes a like can be construed as inflammatory! Yeah, I think a rating system would probably reduce the ...

My hair is long and messy, lol! I doubt it'll ever look good, but it doesn't bother me too much. I would just have short hair, but I feel that I suit longer hair better.

I dropped out of university for the exact same reason, but I did end up finding work in a field I loved. It's different for me, as I did very well at college so had some good qualifications to market myself, but please don't give up. :( What do you enjoy doing? There are lots of avenues for you to g...

Re: What are you working on?

My boyfriend did something like this in his third year at university. He did a Physics degree, but the code itself was an introduction to Java. So perhaps Java might be worth learning for this? Idk. I'm thinking about learning to code but I'm too anxious right now to do anything. I just have heart ...

I meant Speech-To-Text, lol, in that you can use your voice to type messages. :)

I think it's a good idea for you not to speak to her anymore. If she blocked you, it is likely that you're making her a little uncomfortable. I know that's not your intent, but it's best to leave her be now.

Re: Discord voice chat channel for dyspraxics to practise conversational skills

Like a virtual private group chat where a number of people can chat live online together. Discord is like Skype in that it is a Voice over IP app and was set up/is used by the gamimg community. Could not have said it better myself. If people would like, I can setup a Discord server? If at least two...

Have you tried Text-To-Speech? It's a lot better than it used to be, especially on Android phones.

Re: Advice for a newbie

Thanks for the advice that is very useful. Being diagnosed at 27 has meant I haven't really limited myself too much I more just understand why I struggle with things so much now, and like you said I feel less stupid. It's just quite strange to adjust to it but it does feel quite positive as I under...

Yeah brain and pharmacology are fascinating, my first degree was in psychology so this is much more scientific than what I am used to! I am really enjoying it though although feeling the pressure a bit at the moment. Computer science is really interesting too though and there are probably far more ...

Re: Hello! Newly diagnosed dyspraxia

I'm 27 on the 30th of May, hehe! I posted in your other thread with some advice and stuff. I must explain that this forum isn't terribly active, unfortunately. I was trying to get people to join a Discord server together so we could chat more actively, but that's not exactly happened yet, hehe. I'm ...
