I seem to have the "th" and "f" problem that most other people have described here, but I usually pronounce "f" sounds as "th" rather than the other way round! I had speech therapy between the ages of 4 and 6 and even now they sound the same to me, I only know...

The London underground isn't exactly helpful with compass directions anyway; at some stations the line might be running north to south but at the platforms it'll say Westbound and Eastbound! Certainly at a very local level compass bearings aren't too handy, not least as a compass isn't exactly a wi...

I hate small things

Like paperclips, anything fiddly like those games you find in crackers, or kinder suprise eggs, or those warhammer figures. Does anyone else squirm when holding small fiddly things and find them gross? ( It took me a lot longer to move from duplo to lego than most - I was 11! ). Especially if the it...

Up until a few months ago, I thought that "having a bun in the oven" merely meant I was overheating/hot/etc. I now cringe when I think of all the times I've said to ex-boyfriends "oo, I've got a bun in the oven!" then taken a jumper off. I worked in sales ( phones4u ) for a very ...

The two people whom I care about their opinions more than anyone else: my parents. The round hole seems to be mainly imposed by them - I'm seen as an idiot because I can't listen on the phone AND write something down, or I forget a PIN I've been told several times in a few minutes, or I'm seen as la...

I've been forewarned about all this "free" bits... Basically, I am going to purchase myself an iBook(hopefully). But the disability office want to just offer me a PC ( which since I haven't spent 10 odd years getting used to them, I'm going to find slower to use because its not all imprint...

Silly Student Support people, or maybe its me...

I hate paper forms. I always get bits incorrect in them. I've just looked up my already late application for my student loan online and I've found 3 errors already and I have no idea if they were me or the person looking at my terrible writing and misreading it... 1. It says I'm male ( I'm not! ) 2....

Mostly stuff as a kid... My mother didn't seem to realise that just because I came home with As and Bs ( at least until about 15 ) didn't mean that I was going to find everything else in life easy ie things that involved coordination. It was the social aspect that shunted me out at school: The group...

Re: Pancake Day!

Shrove Tuesday is tomorrow and with the prospect of flipping pancakes. Having had a chat with another forum member today I get the impression this isn't something many of us feel is easy. Does anyone have tips on making successful pancakes? 1. Make them smaller :-) ( almost scotch pancake size ). T...

I really want to learn to cook, but I want to do everything from scratch, rahter than put something in the microwave, but don't think anyone has the patience to try things my way, I kind of want to experiment a bit and see what happens. Experiment number one: Make shortcrust pastry with wholemeal f...

Solution to laces: http://www.sayagain.co.uk/b3tapix/images/DSCF0129.JPG 1. No laces ( yay ) 2. They have elastic type bits so I can get them on ( yay ) 3. They look good with suits or with jeans ( yay ) 4. They last forever... however I have back bits worn more than most people so I get them resoled.

Cooking is something I get absorbed into: it is yet another system to understand in the big bad world out there. *grin* Boyfriend usually does the most hazordous things however - I still can't seem to *place* vegetables in boiling water, they always seem to drop instead and splash... and again with ...
