Re: Trying to predict the future
I have a job, while most of my friends do not. I am 17, nearly 18, and work part-time (semi-regularly) as a face painter. I've been working for almost a year- I was still 16 when I did my first gig. I got the job by being in the right place at the right time, but 10 months later I still have a job. ...

Perhaps try joining a choir and do a few solos at first?ichiban-no-hime wrote:I also really love singing and want to start performing, but I know anxiety will be a huge issue. Does anyone have any coping mechanisms and ways to boost confidence?

The Future
Does anyone have any predictions for the (not-so) distant future? Advancements in technology that could help with dyspraxia, or something else?
Go forth and speculate!
Personally, I'd like to see technology become less tied to screens. I see screens somewhat as a barrier, so more 3d please!

Re: Is anyone else ambidextrous?
I'm left-handed but I do swap often. That doesn't mean I'm great at using my right hand though :-p
I think lefties might be better at using their right hands than right handed people are at using their left, because we've had to adapt a little more

Re: Ball Games
I've been advised to "run around and shout a lot while always being inexplicably away from the ball", which works for me.
Also, if given a choice, I usually play defence, where there are always two people and less action

High volume of output in limited time?
For my exams, I have use of a laptop and dictation software. However, I still find it incredibly hard to get enough written, whether it's because I've run out of time or energy. (I also have a tendency to procrastinate.) This has been a problem for approx. 6 years, but I still don't know how to fix ...

Re: My son
Definitely tell him! He's got a struggle ahead either way. That being said, a struggle with an explanation and access to coping strategies is easier than one without. He deserves to understand why he finds certain things difficult, and that there are reasons beyond anyone's control for this. I think...

Re: Gun ownership
To be fair it'd be harder to regulate gun/ ammunition ownership if people were allowed to have one and not the other
We don't exactly have extensive law enforcement either

Arthur Christmas from the film of the same name perhaps.
Clumsy and forgetful, cares so much about Christmas, puts 100% effort into everything and struggles socially
He also seems oblivious to reading/ understanding other people properly
