Credit rating

Hi spraxy friends I had reason to reflect on dyspraxia and poor credit ratings the other day. I'd had my car insurance cancelled as I forgot to switch the payments over to my new bank account and missed the emails... A familiar tale I'm sure! I wondered if anyone else feels like they have a poor cre...

Re: Wrapping Presents

Whilst I've had my years of presents-looking-like-bombs (such a snort came out when I read that subtle art comment) I now make lots of time on a flat space and use Kraft paper to make life easier. It folds and holds way better than standard giftwrap, you only need 1 big roll, and then you can just s...

Re: Very academic degree! Practical study tips

Hi May, I hope you've had a good break and are looking forward to going back to your studies! Your list of dyspraxia displays sound fairly similar to mine - for immediate recollection I make sure I have postits in my pockets and all my colleagues know that if they ask me off the cuff to do something...

Re: so been advised by Shaw trust to disclose dyspraxia to collegues

I would have hoped that in a care home the staff are informed enough to understand that even had they not heard of dyspraxia before they would entertain the idea of a 'differently abled' person being able to use their super-dyspraxic-skills whilst needing support for their difficulties. Have you eve...

I am joking my darling

But you do know you're dyspraxic when someone's told you how to do something five times and you didn't write it down and you have to go and ask again...getting 'the face' ugh

Re: Losing Your Temper When Doing Stuff & Accidentally Breaking Things

Losing temper and getting upset- all over the place. Caught the spoon in my tea while putting milk away and smashed it all over the floor in the same afternoon as having broken my friend's lovely walnut chopping board by dropping it and yanking the knob out of the oven. Needless to say I had to hit ...

Re: Helpful Technology for Dyspraxia

Can you make teeny rfid stickers with a locator? Like i could put a sticker which identifies my purse as my purse and then have a little thing by the door which could tell me where in the house (or that it's somewhere outside the house) all my essential items are on a little map? that would save me ...

Re: Helpful Technology for Dyspraxia

That sounds like an interesting project! Interconnectedness is a great area for discussing dyspraxia in my mind, something we're so good at often is being able to see the links between ideas and people in the big picture. I love Tom's comment on unloseable, waterproof and reminds you to charge it- t...

Hey guys, I know this is an old thread but I relate to a lot of the stuff you're both saying- if you're still active drop a line here and maybe we can carry on the discussion :)

Re: Tidiness / organisation tips

Hi, I'm also new and found your post while browsing around. I'm an ESL teacher and had one 2-term job in a 'real' school with lots of international students. I empathise with you, as I was not renewed because of disorganisation, essentially. Some good tips I was given that helped what I feel to be m...
