Re: Struggling with new job.

Hi Captain Ludd First of all congratulations! I very much believe you're like a lot of us in that you're being over hard on yourself. You will learn and pick things up but it will take a while to get used to and to lose the fear. How long have you been there? Try not to let your fears hold you back,...

Re: Newbie question

I think there is a danger of being over prescriptive over what being dyspraxic means. We're all very determined individuals (we have to be) we're all different. If there's something we like we like to do it lots and can become very good at it. Unfortunately many of us have a tendency to want to be g...

Re: Access to work -experiences + Advice

Hi Screengreen Welcome to the forum. Out of interest are your HR Dept aware of your dyspraxia? I must admit I was under the incorrect impression that it was the employer who organises AtW. But they do send the report to you rather than to the company/organisation you are employed by (unless your sel...

Re: Hey... new here!

Martyn Unsurprisingly most people here see your ex employers handling of your employment and dismissal as deeply wrong. Do try to think of it as it being their loss not yours. You are better off not working for such a shortsighted bunch who clearly failed to recognise and nurture your potential. It ...

Re: Hey... new here!

. . . only lasted for 6 months when they sacked me because I told them about my dyspraxia and that they wanted someone who was more capable of doing the job properly. But yeah... I just feel things have started spiraling downwards from there and im just struggling to cope with things. Anyway would ...

Re: tidying and getting stressed about it

Hi Steph

Welcome to the forums

I do the flitting from one task to another thing too. Could do with catching up with tidying/organising my flat but on here. Tbh I should actually be in bed as need to get up in morning for work

Re: Dyspraxia and food Intolerance

Hi

None that I'm aware of or have made me dangerously ill or otherwise sick.

I believe there is a school of thought that our immune systems may be different or over sensitive. I do get eczema and asthma

Welcome Becky (or maybe that could be bienvenue)

I quite like quirks as I think/find them less troublesome than difficulties as then you're on the road to accepting that you do things differently.

Good to see another person from Gloucestershire.

I challenge any 'normal' person not to be tired after doing that, especially when weather is like it is.

Re: Can you swim?

I'm not an amazing swimmer but I'm pretty confident. Crawl is a bit too uncoordinated so prefer breast stroke which again, is probably not near as coordinated as it should be but it gets me through the water and swimming is one of the few things that relaxes me. Will have to go again soon.

Re: Dispraxia (May Loose My Job)

First of all welcome Hi there Jadey You can do this and your not alone, certainly not on here They obviously care as they wouldn't have told you. Don't be afraid to ask them for some specific examples to allow you to analyse better how and where you need to improve. Also ask them of examples where y...

Re: Is my dispraxia getting worse

Hi Mark In the past and even sometimes now I have days where nothing seems to go right. (today was a bit that way) On such days I have a strong tendency to blame myself and even feel like I'm losing it (if I ever had it in the first place!). Things that are especially important to me, like my job, i...

Re: Single Dyspraxic trying to find love

Very much agree with that!

You need to be a bit suspicious as there are some seriously unscrupulous types committing romance frauds. If it seems too good to be true, beware!
