Re: college life and socialisation

Hi Amy I think it's all too easy to stress about the whole unwritten rules thing. I know I'm prone to it. Often I think I'm on the outside looking in and it's not a nice feeling but there are many others who share the same feeling. I know it's not easy for you but is there anything you could help ot...

Re: Over complicating tasks

I have similar issues. I'm a perfectionist and not great at prioritising. I also have a tendency to try and take on too much and not let go until something is concluded to my satisfaction. I do like things to be simple but often they aren't and If someone else says thats no longer important without ...

Re: I'm about to quit my job.

Hi Skifflet Glad to hear things went better than expected and at least one manager is on your side. Look at it as a vote of confidence in your favour. and that you are appreciated even though you probably don't appreciate yourself as much as you should. I'm equally uncomfortable with the disability ...

Re: Jobcentre discrimination

First of all welcome to the Group and I'm really depressed to read about your experience at your jobcentre It was definitely mentioned in the Disability Discrimination Act 1995. Not sure about specific mention in New Equality Act 2010 but my understanding is it is counted as a disability because the...

Re: Marksmanship

Not by any means an expert on this having not done any formal target shooting. Can you choose what position you shoot from and/or use a bipod? Also isn't being comfortable in the position you adopt equally important though I guess you may be like me in not being all that good at remaining still for ...

Re: Can i get sacked for having dyspraxia?

Sounds like they're being massively insensitive and yes you no doubt have got a case if they use dyspraxia as their reason for dismissing you. Aside from this incident how are you finding the job? Reason I ask is I'm well aware that construction sites tend to have lots of potential hazards and while...

Re: I think i have ruined it

Long enough for him to get to grips with what happened and decide what he wants. I guess you should know best. but can you speak to a mutual friend about it all? Or could you write a letter? Sorry can't advise any more than that and hope situation sorts itself out for best. I imagine it will not be ...

Re: tidying and getting stressed about it

I can identify with this too, sitting, as I am in the middle of a 'tip'. Think best way forward is to set yourself and stick to specific tasks in short bursts. So 15 mins picking up sorting and putting away clothes. 15 mins sorting papers into Action This Day Action Next week,Non urgent and Retain a...

Re: Welcome!

Hi Ruth Welcome to the forums (or should that be fora?) Must admit that sounds truly frightening and I'm guessing that quite probably worrying about it makes it worse? Are you getting enough sleep/rest? (Silly question, you have a one yr old to look after, but I'm a bloke 8-) A combination of the be...

Re: Some help please?

Afraid I've no knowledge of anything specifically aimed at people with Dyspraxia and can't say I've looked in detail at this yet but possibly it might be worth looking at. Suspect there are other orgs that use same or similar principles. Wikipedia on Getting Things Done http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...

Re: Is it possible I am dyspraxic?

It definitely sounds like you at least have dyspraxic tendencies. How do you feel about paying for the test? How much are you being encouraged to go for it? Sorry lots of questions there and I know you're confused. I certainly would have been. I had a statement of special educational needs when I wa...

Re: A update from me

Philip Great to hear you're still trying and haven't given up. If you can try and make yourself be proactive and visit places that meet your requirements it shows initiative. Must admit I was a letter writer though. If you can run to it get some paper that's different from standard white copier pape...

Re: can anyone give me any advice please??

It's been recognised that I have dyspraxic tendencies. On bad days I'm definitely dyspraxic

Some things are much harder but if I want to do them I'm determined and will find a way. You can too,

All the best!

Re: Hi I'm Robert (not...!)

Robert Welcome. I've done this too. Very annoying! I'm now in the habit of either selecting all and copying just before I hit submit. That way if it's timed out before I've finished I can paste and my typing is restored. The other way is to do typing in word or other app allowing text editing and th...

You could try Bio Oil http://www.amazon.co.uk/Bio-Oil-Specialist-Skincare-Oil-200/dp/B00129XP8M/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1347384842&sr=8-1 I'd strongly recommend you order it from a reputable shop rather than just any online seller. I've stuck Amazon's link just for your reference and not per se an en...
