Re: Wondering if I have Dyspraxia

I am wondering if my brother has Dyspraxia he has ASD with learning Difficulties, the main reason I think he may have Dyspraxia on top of Autism, is that seems to really shy away from basic routine tasks, likes to do small tasks with support, but then suddenly stops, this seems to be with everything...

Re: At what age did you learn to swim , or can't you swim?

I've always struggled with front crawl and can't really coordinate or sustain it so generally stick with my uncoordinated, but sufficiently effective breast stroke

Re: Employee of the Month.

So have you spoken to your immediate or higher superiors to voice your discontent, concerns and general dissatisfaction? I can appreciate that you feel you are the lowest of the low, but how much is this coloured by your own view of yourself? They previously recognised you as employee as the month, ...

Re: Gave up on life

It's saddeningly familiar. I've got a job now for a little over a year, but my boss just snapped because I suggested an improvement to our system to the IT manager of the company and he thought it was a good idea to implement.. I've been put on notice that I have to follow the hierarchical lines so...

Re: Has anyone with dyspraxia passed first aid?

Welcome

So are they calling resuscitation, reanimation now? I've always thought reanimation was for corpses?

Of course the idea is to hopefully prevent loss of life.

Re: How do I talk to doctor

Hi and welcome There a couple of options: Take a friend or partner with you for moral support or to speak for you if you get tongue tied Write a short list of key points of areas that you struggle with and the outcome you are seeking so you can hand this over if words fail you. Not all doctors will ...

Re: College Anxiety

Hi Philip and welcome It can regrettably so that we may need to put in extra effort just to come out as average among our peers and social exclusion can and sadly can occur. It is all to easy to say don't react, but we all want to feel liked and accepted so experiencing any kind of bullying is natur...

Re: Finding a job

. . . Shame that South Africa is so exploited by foreigners, let me guess, the British and the Americans? We're both famous for exploitation, only my English neighbor keeps reminding me that the Brits have been doing it for much longer than we Americans. Touche! Diplomacy has always been about gain...

Re: At what age did you learn to swim , or can't you swim?

I learned to swim when I was 10 as my primary school had weekly compulsory swimming lessons, which took place on Friday mornings. Unfortunately I only achieved 10 metres because when I was in Year 6 the school modified its policy so that the older Infants (Year 2) and younger juniors (years Three a...

Re: Will Britain be able to make a sucess of Brexit?

I'd agree but the fact is. it is political suicide for any politician trying to do so as they just get accused of 'trying to undermine the will of the people'. If only Dave had not caved in to UKIP and hastily set up a referendum without defining terms like a two thirds majority guess he was too con...

Re: ASD and dyspraxia- how much are they related?

You forgot ADHD/ADD. I believe Tourettes is a neurological condition that is outside the Autistic Spectrum, as do Dyslexia and Dyspraxia, That said there are crossovers in traits and in many cases people have Dyspraxia and other co-occurring conditions and it is a complex web. I think the notion of ...
