I don't drink very much. I like the occasional bottle of lager every so often ( Czechvar is my favourite-- it is much better than the swill that most Americans drink) or a good hefewiezen. I also enjoy a glass of a decent pinot noir or cabernet with my meals. People have told me that I have refined ...

Dual booting with [k]ubuntu is relatively painless (as opposed to other Distros). These days, you can test-drive linux without installing it by using a liveCD. (it runs off of the CD without installing anything, and many also let you install during that session if you wish) Once partitions are made ...

I've never been able to manage a relationship; I'm not really sure about what to do in that sort of situation. I want to find out what its like, but I've never been able to. ](*,) People out there have dry spells, but metaphorically speaking my life is a dry desert that has never seen so much as a ...

I hated PE. I got tired so quickly that I was not much use to anyone on a team. I could never catch or kick a ball, and I had social difficulties so I was not really able to effectively be part of a team.

I have no short-term memory to speak of.

When someone tells me something, I have to focus intently on it or it will be gone at the slightest distraction.

This leaves me completely unable to multitask.

Post Your Desktop

Post a picture of your desktop. (leave the icons in place if you wish) http://upload4.postimage.org/1982825/snapshot3.jpg I use Kubuntu Linux. I've migrated to open source this past year. It suits me better than anything Micro$oft has to offer, since Linux is very customizable (not to mention ...

Openoffice.org can't spell it right either, but it works well enough after I add it.

I've used openoffice.org exclusively for the past two years and it is every bit as good as Microsoft office.

Hey page, how do those musicians earplugs you're talking about work? If they cut out sound in certain ranges is it possible to get ones that'd make talking in a crowd easier? Sure. They come with filters that filter out certain ranges, meaning that speech still sounds about right and background ...

Lots of neuro-diverse people (both aspies and dyspraxics alike) seem to have the ability to naturally engage in lateral thinking. (which like Ruth said, allows us to see things from different angles and think of innovative solutions that don't occur to "normal" people) I also know that normal neuro ...

I have a theory about that-- see my post on Central auditory processing disorder.

Lately, my worst problem has been my lack of endurance. Dyspraxia produces hypotonia (low muscle tone) in some people, and this affects me to some extent from head to toe. As such, I can't lift anything heavy and I find it difficult to stand up in one place without supporting myself on something for ...

Subtitles are good, but closed captions are better because they are available on broadcast TV and include all sounds, not just dialog. Every so often I find a DVD where the producers skimped on extras, such as subtitles, and even these discs have closed captions. Closed captions are omnipresent ...

I also have noise oversensitivity. I hate being in a quiet room because noises seem amplified-- I usually keep music playing as a sort of noise filter.

I'm also oversensitive to light, touch, and temperature.

Unfortunately, this isn't going to be much help for adults.

After a certain age, your neural system matures and once that happens you're stuck with what you got for the most part.

The neural system in younger kids is still developing to some extent, so coordination issues can be treated.
