Sunglasses and earphones in the workplace !?
Hey everyone! Anyone else find offices a general nightmare to work in ? Noisy printers.. kettles boiling.. artifical white lighting.. papers rustling and the general office chatter  All of these aspects take me completely off what I am trying to do.. I have now taken to wearing sunglasses to ...

Re: Dyspraxia and awkwardness
Replying to an old post here .. Just a thought on the matter - Sensory circuits can be really useful. Starting the day with a small activity involving physical movements like a mini obstacle course to get your body aligned into space and give you some proprioceptive feedback O:) If this is too ...

Howdy! :)
Hi everyone! =; I'm Jessica, 27 and from Shropshire, England, UK. I work in healthcare and my main goal is to improve awareness of Dyslexia and Dyspraxia in the workplace. This is firstly for myself (hopefully to make work a more enjoyable experience) and also for others who I may encounter who ...

Re: Anyone had any contact with Occupational Therapy ?
Thanks for the reply.. O:) I need to contact Access to Work and see what they say. Also, I did see on the Dyspraxia foundation site that there are workers who can come in to see you at your workplace and provide 1:1 sessions. Possibly this is to see where support could be offered and any emotional ...

Re: What support if any do you receive at work?
Thanks for the input guys. Yes It's a tough question whether to discuss it or not. Personally I have found that in jobs that I have not disclosed my difficulties and 'methods of working' as I like to say it has certainly gone against me for not being honest in the future. I know that people are ...

Re: What support if any do you receive at work?
Thanks for your replies guys! I am really sorry to read you don't get any support. Admittedly, I have had to strongly self advocate for my support. I have contacted the Dyspraxic foundation about this matter and asked how we could raise awareness in the workplace. Perhaps if more people did this is ...

Where are we all !?
Hey there!
Apologies if this is already on here somewhere..
Where are folks from? I'm from Shropshire and would love to network with others in a similar area (or not) further afield is also great.
Thanks!

Re: What do non-dyspraxic people think about the dyspraxic ?
My experience with telling people I'm Dyspraxic.. 1. Assumptions made that I can't do sports 2. People think I want 'special' treatment 3. People then comment on how well I spell and how neat my handwriting is *aaaarrrggghhh* Ive even had someone respond by talking extra slowly and loud like I had a ...

Re: Anyone had any contact with Occupational Therapy ?
Thanks for the replies guys! Love your random fact too haha. Yes I understand that you feel you want to be equal to your peers. For me I am struggling to keep up with my work and really need some support (I'll take any tech going if it will help me) except no one knows what is available in the ...

What support if any do you receive at work?
Hi everyone, I'd love to know more about what support some of us get or could get access to via work. For me I have access to Dragon naturally speaking as I do a lot of report writing and it improves my speed to complete work. To gain access to this I needed to evidence that this was something ...

Hope to hear from you soon! Thanks
