Re: Developmental Questionnaire.

Wow! I am dead on with the exception of not knowing whether or not I had any issues with crawling. A lot of this stuff I'd forgotten but the questionnaire brought it back

Re: Can openers!

I have always had a great deal of difficulty with can openers. As a child we had no choice but to purchase and open cans but now I rarely do since just about everything comes in foil pouches or other containers that do not require can openers.

Re: Answering the phone?

I have the same issue. It is especially anxiety provoking if the person is not someone I wish to speak with at that moment. That often has to do with either my struggle to stay focused on the task at hand, or if I already have too much going on in the way of stress and attempting to manage it I don'...

Re: Tying laces

I'm the same--I can tie them but they won't stay tied. I either tie them in knots and then struggle to unknot them or I wear shoes that don't have laces; more likely the latter.

Re: Touch screen phones

I have a great deal of difficulty texting with them for that very reason. So, I have an old fashioned phone with buttons. It's funny, I always knew this has had something to do with dyspraxia but couldn't quite put into words the precise difficulty I was having with these phones in terms of texting.

Re: Asking for reasonable accomidations...in the USA

You don't need to go to the UK. Just see a neuropsychologist and get an OT assessment as well.

Re: Ghostly goings on!?

The house i live in is purportedly haunted; ostensibly, this is why the previous owner from whom I'd purchased the house, sold it. However, I'm the first owner to have not experienced any paranormal activity.

Re: Usernames

I always use Latin words; the problem is when the computer prompts me to change my password and I add a number or punctuation mark and then can't remember which number or punctuation mark or number I added

Re: The Sixth Sense

I think I vacillate between not picking up on obvious nonverbal cues( particularly when under stress) and being hyperaware and having a very keen intuitive sense so it's sometimes hard to trust my intuition however experience has shown that quite often my intuitive sense is correct

Re: Losing jobs.

Well, I recently went through something similar with a part time job I've had for the past six months. Because of slow processing and a high level of computer errors(I don't have an IT job, but documentation is heavy and done via computer) I became completely devalued within a couple of months and s...

Re: Resigned from my job today

Thanks Tom, She ,at first, denied having been rude and abusive. Then she asked for one example of a time when she had been rude. I gave her the example, without hesitation, and verbatim. She knew I wasn't making it up because I just blurted the whole thing out with skipping a beat. She does have a s...

Re: Sleepless night

I've always had insomnia. Even as a child. I lay in bed at night and just keep thinking and thinking. Yesterday was a very difficult day for me; had a confrontation with my boss so last night I took some sleep meds my doctor gave me and had a nasty reaction (restless leg syndrome) which does happen ...
