Dyspraxia symptoms/panic attacks?

Hi all, Just wondered if your dyspraxia gets better or worse in some aspects over time or if it's very constant. Really struggle from time to time with, what I think are anxiety attacks. So wish that I didn't as they're horrible and always last for days (around a week or more). When I have them, my ...

Re: Anger Management

Hi all, Resurrecting an old thread here (sorry!). I've got/had anger issues in the past. Have learned to control it a lot better in the last few years I think - other than one consistent 'elephant in the room' - the biggest trigger was my brother and our relationship. We've not spoken since April - ...

How do you deal with anger issues?

Had a real big argument this evening with my brother, said some things I didn't mean and practically threw him out my house. I regret it, particularly being the time of year it is as well. We've spoken on the phone and patched things up (again) but it's a common pattern for us, we usually have them ...

Re: Sensory overload - how does it feel?

6 days I felt like this, then feel my normal self again today. Horrible feeling when it happens. Maybe anxiety attacks, I don't know. I'm usually pretty well hydrated to be honest, so not sure that's it. Usually comes around when I'm pretty stressed out one way or another. No migraines or sinus issu...

Sensory overload - how does it feel?

Hi all, Normally things go great, but sometimes when I start to get really stressed I almost shut down for a few days - not good. Does anyone have sensory overload and can explain how it feels or how you deal with it? Is it a permanent thing or does it come and go? At the moment I'm in stressed mode...

Re: Can dyspraxic people drive manual cars

I've never had a problem with driving, passed my driving test (manual) first time after not that many lessons, and drove buses, bendy buses and 40ft coaches with trailers for a well known bus operator for nearly 10 years and passed my bus test first time... albeit I did take out a couple of sides of...

Dyspraxia and self-employment

Hi all, So late last year I went full-time self-employed with my own business. It's been great to be fair, have never looked back to my old job and wish I had done it sooner. The one thing I really struggle with though, and have always struggled with over the years though, is my quick temper. I know...

Re: Running a marathon

I hated sports at school for the above reasons, and so purposely avoided it for years. My running gait is terrible. I do run noticeably different, arm's etc, and despite being 6' 7 my stride is so small its unreal, and have had many people tell me I need a gait analysis etc, but they don't know abou...

Yes they're horrible Brad and I'm the same. I've probably had them for a good 10-15 years at least. You?

Re: Dyspraxia and stress - is this normal?

Just an update, normal service is resumed again. Thanks Nicky, for asking, and others for input too. All in all, I was as good as completely out of it from the 27th December until yesterday morning, so 12 days in all. I tend to find when I have these spells that the first few days I will get gradual...

Re: Being clumsy

Not sure if this counts, but being rather tall (6' 7), I hit doorframes/roofs quite a lot... even in places where I know the doorframe is shorter than me! My best friend lives in an old farmhouse, and so it feels somewhat hobbit-like for me - low roofs (kitchen beams and lights are a killer), super-...

Dyspraxia and stress - is this normal?

So the last couple of weeks have been very stressful one way or another. Long story short, I had a leg infection so have been signed off work for a couple of weeks from my part-time work, the leg also meant I have been unable to train so that has really jumped my stress levels up quite a lot, it's t...

Hi everyone, and a bit about me.

Hi, So I found this forum after doing a bit of searching, and it seems really good. It's quite interesting to read about other peoples stories and the issues they have to deal with too. Basically for me, things began in primary school. I had a horrible schooling. Teachers thought I was very disrupti...
