Re: Sitting down differently?

Hi, I have noticed after observing other people either when I'm with a group of people or old photos that I don't sit with straight legs like most people. I'm sure some of you know what I mean, most people sit with their legs straight and touching the floor or still straight even if they are shorte...

Re: I'm struggling to play melodies with both hands at the same time on my keyboard, advice?

Hi, that's fine I'm glad you understand what I'm going on about. My psychiatrist the other week has told me I may need to see a neurologist about this right hand and the fingers not being able to obey my brain whereas the left can. Also regarding my hands not being able to play separate rhythms at o...

Finding clothing too tight when it actually isn't?

Hi, for years I have felt funny about wearing clothes that feel tight to me even though they actually fit and people have commented they fit me well. When I wear socks I feel like they are rtght round my ankles or outer toe when they are not. I also find bras too tight so I end up putting it on the ...

Dyspraxia And Clothing Coordination?

Hello everyone, does anyone else here have problems with clothing and coordination? For me I find socks hard to put on unless I am sat down. I find that I can't coordinate my socks very well because when I put them on they are not how they should be like the bit that is on the back of the foot ends ...

I'm struggling to play melodies with both hands at the same time on my keyboard, advice?

Hi everyone I recently got a keyboard piano. I can play it confidently using my left hand and fingers, my right is slower and the fingers are stiffer which I'm trying to get that looked into. Anyway I know what I need to play in the opposite hand in my mind and know the notes. For some reason it's a...

I find a lot of two handed tasks difficult?

Hi everyone I have put a question mark in my title because I'm asking about what it says on the website as I believe this is a big issue for me. I am poor at two handed tasks and always have been. I will give a few examples. I cannot walk and open a backpack zip the same time as holding the backpack...

Do you think a psychiatrist would know about Dyspraxia?

I realise the title is a sort of " You've answered your own question there Lizzie". As I have mentioned that a psychiatrist I saw when I was 14 suggested a slight Dypraxia based on me accidently breaking things. Il try to keep this short and say more in replies. My GP has a copy of my chec...

Re: Touch screen phones

Who else has difficulty swiping these? I tend to swipe too heavily and it takes several attempts for something to happen. I was thinking about this myself last night or the night before when I was trying to draw round text on my phone with my finger. I sometimes under swipe or swipe to vigorously. ...

Anyone else have problems with cutting their finger nails/toe nails?

Hi everyone, obviously through researching Dyspraxia and comparing my own coordination problems I've had a good think about what problems I have. Before having a really good think I didn't consider certain things I have or had as coordination problems. Maybe I just don't grasp the whole coordination...

Re: Folding clothes/paper/towels

Hi, yes I struggle to fold paper exactly right, in fact not too long ago I tried making a cube out of paper which required folding. I lost the sequence of the step by step instructions. Anyway I can fold it if I really really be careful but takes more effort than it's worth for me. I just end up get...

I run quite clumsily aswell, stamping my feet and it echos down the street or wherever I'm running. A heavy footedness I suppose.

Re: Problems sending PM messages to other members

System confusingly files them in your outbox until recipient sees and opens them. Only then do they show as sent. Thank you, I see, I really couldn't understand where the send button was. Unfortunately I've sent the same email 3 times to the person plus one explaining I couldn't reply. Oh dear had ...

Re: Hair care

Hi I know this post is from a while ago but I'd like to add to it and reply anyway. Reading through posts, I also have weak wrists, my body strength in my arms themselves is absolutely fine. The best way I can discribe it is the wrist is getting sore and loose if I am holding an object with one of m...

Problems sending PM messages to other members

Hi I'm not sure where to post this but I would like to know if this is a problem for many users. So I was trying to send a PM reply to a message I received, I tried several times but the messages keep ending up in the outbox going nowhere.

Is there any way to fix this?

Re: Not sure whether this has a name/is dyspraxia related

Hi, it could be worth mentioning it to any doctors you see. I have occasions where I do the same sometimes if I jerk holding something it can hurt. Not sure myself if it has anything to do with Dyspraxia or not. There's times where I've jerked involuntarily and hit my arm or elbow on a door, sometim...
