Re: What things can make dyspraxia symtpoms worse?

Thanks Ted. I was actually at the dentist a couple of days ago and had to have a tooth removed. I hadn't seen the particular dentist before and was a bit worried that my arm might go a bit haywire, but it was actually fine! I have found that in the past having something tightish around my arm - such...

Re: Is it worth trying? (Color Guard / Dancing)

I played rugby while I was at university, in my first and third years. Prior to that I'd only played about 8 years before then when I was at high school. Was totally shocked when I made it onto the team because other people were fanatics and had played for their county. I think the position I played...

Re: Feel so lost

Hi imamuppet, I'm 36 and used to work as a TA. I, too, found it difficult at times to process some things while I was doing the job - thankfully, for my sanity, it was only a year. I put it down to a lack of training as it's very much an "on the job" career choice, but hey, maybe it can be...

Re: What things can make dyspraxia symtpoms worse?

Does anyone have a problem whilst laying in the dentist's chair? I'm not frightened of the dentist or anything like that but feel a bit wary when someone's in close proximity to my left arm, which is the main trigger of my dyspraxic tendancies. I also try to avoid holding hands (not with a dentist, ...

Re: What is your job?

I work for the NHS 111 service as a health advisor. Been doing it for 6 years now although I've only work part-time hours for half of that as I become accustomed to living on a tight budget. It really pisses me off the amount of folk that ring in with minor ailments, who think that they are at death...

Re: Aching legs

Hi Marty,

I am undiagnosed with dyspraxia, but I do have some balance issues as well as several other things which may suggest I have the condition. I've never had a problem with aching legs. Hopefully your gp/physio can help alleviate the problem.

Re: I’m new

Hi Casey, when I was at uni a few years back I was unaware that I might have dyspraxia (still don't. Need a diagnosis) so it's a good start that your university are aware and I'm sure that they will have things in place to make the academic side more comfortable for you. Please remember that if you ...

Re: Finding a hobby(for dyspraxics!!!)

My main hobby involves horse racing. I've been into it since around 2008 and have now visited around a quarter of the tracks in England, one in Wales, two in Ireland and one in the USA. I'm a member of the London Racing Club and I also impart my supposed equine knowledge, voluntarily, at several cou...

Re: Howdy

Thanks for the reply, Tom. Carrying two glasses - except on a tray - is definitely out of the question for me, unless I have had a few pints and even then I wouldn't be able to hold the drink in my left hand naturally. I wouldn't attempt three unless I'd had several more! A possible interesting asid...

Howdy

36 year old male here, who's only just recently started learning about dyspraxia due to something my ex girlfriend (about the only good memory I have of her) mentioned in conversation! I was involved in a car accident when I was 7 or 8, where I suffered a head injury and since then my left hand (and...
