Re: Fluctuating ability to think clearly

@ alessandro - that sounds extremely familiar to me... especially in the more energy spent appearing functional than being functional part. The worst is when I become aware I’m having trouble keeping up with what someone is telling me and get distracted by my own internal commentary, going from stru...

Re: Does anyone else break zips and tangle up earphones?

You mean both of those things aren’t normal, everyday issue everyone has to deal with? :-s

Because both of those things are basically my life. If you were to do a montage of my day to day living an extortionate amount would be me wrestling with zips and getting tangled up in my headphones

Re: Finding a hobby(for dyspraxics!!!)

Everyone's said it already, but don't let being dyspraxic get in the way of trying new hobbies. My after-finishing-uni hobby was making beaded jewellery, which I got more and more into until it actually became my job. In fact, trying out crafts as a hobby can be a safe space to practice movements an...

Re: Fish oil and gluten free diets?

No idea about fish oil, but I'm both mildly dyspraxic and gf, and I can't say I've ever particularly noticed a decrease in my dyspraxic tendencies. Certainly not enough to justify the difficulties of sticking to a gf diet. Also, if the problems are social, a restrictive diet will only increase likel...

Re: Being clumsy

I don't think I pick my feet up properly, so paving stones regularly send me flying. Things just also tend to get knocked over when in my general vicinity. On the plus side, this can work in your favour when you have a life time of it, like a kind of potential accident alarm. I was on a pub patio du...

Re: Are you an introvert or an extrovert?

Introvert through and through. I do a happy dance everytime I get home to my house share and see all the lights off because it means I can get my dinner without having to talk to anyone. If I see friends over the weekend I'll be back at work more tired and drained than when I left on Friday. When I ...

Re: Repetition in your head

Shacklesh, the bit about having someone talk to you and know you're not taking it in as it's happening is something that happens to me all the time. Often to the point where I get an internal running commentary competing with the instructions, pointing out how much I'm not understanding it right now...

Re: How did you find out about the Dyspraxic Adults Forum?

Just stumbled upon it through google. I got diagnosed with dyspraxia when I was 17 (nearly 12 years ago... #-o ) I'd definitely categorize my issues as mild, so I occasionally forget until something comes and (sometimes literally) hits me in the face to remind me - this time it's my alignment gettin...
