Any parents who're dyspraxic also have a dyspraxic child?
I suspect I am dysrpraxic. I fit most of the symptoms and on chatting to both my doctor and the SENCO at my daughters Nursery they both agree that it's very likely. Over the last few months I've had a range of emotions about this, but I am finally beginning to accept that it's likely that I am undia...

Any other parents worry they get it wrong?
Because I do all the time. I'm undiagnosed dyspraxic but I'm 99% sure I am as since my last post on this forum I've spoken to professionals that work with people who're dyspraxic and they think they can identify the traits plus since becoming aware of my potential condition I'm noticing and trying t...

Re: I wear out shoes really quickly?
I normally only have one pair of shoes at a time as I just physically can't afford more than one, although in Summer Months I usually have a pair of sandals to go alongside my regular everyday shoes so they shoes don't seem to wear out as quickly in the summer. Comfort more than anything is importan...

Re: I'm not going to let this define me anymore.
Your are so right dyspraxia doesn't define us. I'm not diagnosed but have had a hard time in life. But now I am starting to feel happiness, I am married to an amazing man who loves me for everything including my dyspraxia. And I have a beautiful little girl who deserves the best mum I can be. I'm st...

Re: Does anyone else make alot of lists?
Not quite the same thing, but I have a habit of making a lot of playlists of music, which involves going through the tracks to meticulously arrange each release in chronological order, adding all the correct artwork in high resolution, adding fields for catalogue numbers of the releases, specific g...

I wear out shoes really quickly?
Anyone else do this? I get new shoes every year for Christmas and on my birthday (in June) and they usually only last a few weeks before they're wrecked; soles with holes in, rubber pulling apart on soles/front etc. I've tried different types and styles of shoes; ballet flats, sandals, leather shoes...

Re: Not very dyspraxic talents
Not sure if this counts but carrying my daughter in a carrier.
Apparently my muscle tone and posture should be poor due to my dyspraxia but I love putting my daughter in a carrier and carrying her on my back. It makes me tired but so worth it to know where she is.

Re: Need to get "official" diagnosis
More thoughts: Jewellery - I wanted a pandora bracelet so badly as a teenager but now I have one I don't wear it. I also don't wear earrings despite having pierced ears (thanks mum for doing them when I was younger than my daughter it now!). I can feel things that don't feel right on me, bracelets s...

Need to get "official" diagnosis
Ok, I'm new here *waves* hi. This is a bit of a strange one. I'm a 24 year old woman, who lives in the UK. I'm married and have a young daughter. I've known for awhile I was different and while in high school the SENCO suggested I may have either Autism or Dyspraxia/Dyslexia unfortunately my dad (wh...
