Re: Room 101

I'm with you on hating writing and drawing by hand too Dan. I am embarrassingly bad at drawing and I way prefer typing to handwriting. So much easier!

Re: Room 101

Christmas 101 is a great idea! My 3 would be: 1. Christmas cards - I get so stressed each year trying to get them done in time and I never send them to everyone I should which makes me feel guilty! 2. Wrapping presents. I am really bad at it and my presents always look rubbish! 3. Trying to get on w...

Re: Room 101

Hi Clumsy!

I'm definitely with you on self service check outs. They get me all flustered! I too avoid them like the plague.

Can't say I agree with you on dressing gowns though. I love a good dressing gown me!

Re: Room 101

Good additions Nicky!

I love the show too and a dyspraxia episode is a brilliant idea!

Re: Division of labour after a baby

Hi Nicky, I can identify with lots of what you say again. I too tend to forget things like doing the bins and I also have to stop to look for my keys in my handbag. Far too hard to do that on the move! Those things can be frustrating you're right. I will try to be less hard on myself about the thing...

Room 101

So what would you put in room 101?

I think for me it would be:
1. Netball - all that leaping and pivoting. It's just not for me.
2. People who say "but you had it a minute ago!" when I lose something. A lot can happen in a minute!
3. Wasps. They're pointless and they're a pain.

Re: Phobias/Fears

I don't know if I should admit to this phobia, as it's so weird and really personal, but I feel for you with your fear of trees and you should know you're not the only one with a powerful, unusual fear you just can't shake. So here goes, I am genuinely scared of some toilets! It's the old fashioned ...

Re: Hate being so clumsy!

Hello,

Thanks for the replies. Chatting about things on here really does help to put them in perspective. I will try and be calmer and less down on myself, which I think is the general gist of your messages and good advice. :)

Re: Division of labour after a baby

Hello again Jim, Thanks for the chart. Really interesting and helpful. I will try not to be too intimidated by cooking but it is something I have a real mental block about. My early experiences of cooking were in school cookery lessons which were massively stressful! I went to such a strict, old fas...

Re: Division of labour after a baby

Hi Nicky and Jim! Thanks both of you for your messages. You sound very similar to me Nicky! I've always been slow to get things done at work and home. I've also wondered if I might have some elements of aspergers sometimes too. I'm a primary school teacher (when I'm not at home being a mum) so I als...

Re: Division of labour after a baby

Hi Nicky, Thank you for your reply. It's lovely just to know I'm not the only one who finds it a struggle getting everything done sometimes. It's also nice to know you think the groups are a good idea. I think we get a lot out of them although it's true that I may be over grouping! The funny thing i...

Hate being so clumsy!

Feeling really down about how much I break and spill things tonight. I spill a drink most days and break something most weeks. I also hurt myself all the time. My legs are covered in bruises from where I've walked into things but that doesn't bother me so much because no one else gets mad at me for ...

Re: Need to get "official" diagnosis

Hi Sansababy, I wanted to say hello as I am a mum with a baby girl too and I too suspect I have dyspraxia but I have not had an assessment. So it's nice to see someone on here who might understand the challenges of motherhood with dyspraxia (or suspected dyspraxia). I can relate to a lot of what you...
