Re: Did dyspraxia assessment but confused and not convinced by the test or results
I am interested in your concerns about your assessment not being relevant to everyday life - this is a concern I have as I go into an assessment by a Neuropyschologist next month, because the letter I have been sent speaks of ""paper-and-pencil tests, solving a few problems and answering q...

Re: UK aged 50
Thanks for asking, this may be helpful to others to know my progress, it seems very slow, given that I waited until I felt at my wits end before asking for help. I visited my GP for a diagnosis last autumn, followed by a trip to a Neurologist in the spring (suggested brain is healthy) and then a bra...

No NHS service for dyspraxia in adulthood
This morning I saw my GP as the first step towards diagnosis and help for dyspraxia, as advised on various websites. Re: I cant use any transport.
I am similar and I live in very rural area. I sincerely believe that I could easily become homeless by being lost, so I do understand the anxiety aspect. Re: Doors
In new places or with others around to consider, I tend to touch the walls and door frames (in a cool nonchalant manner:) because I think this helps.

Re: Changing with age
I put mine getting worse in middle age down to loss of optimism as it is slowly dawning on me that everyone else might be right and I am not going to grow up one day.

UK aged 50
I'd like to understand what assessment or help I might be able to get. I'm in UK aged 50, not working or claiming, and absolutely fed up with dyspraxia affecting everyday boring stuff.

Re: Tying laces
For black work type shoes, I take my laces out and put black elastic in and tie it to fit and from then on they are slip-on shoes.
