I'm not going to let this define me anymore.

I don't know what has brought this on, other than the fact that I'm sick of feeling like this. Hearing about the fact that I'm going to have a harder time finding love, finding a job, finding happiness, because of something I can't control. That is so hard for me to hear, so hard for me to accept. S...

Do things really get better?

Sigh. I get that I sound negative but I need to hear from people with dyspraxia that things do get better and have, relationship wise, employment wise, post secondary wise, whatever. I know there are lots of adults who have been through this teenage/early adult years of their life and I could really...

Re: Not very dyspraxic talents

I can type really well, and apparently dyspraxics have trouble with that, according to what I've heard.. Also, I'm a writer. I've written a couple of articles for an online magazine. Not sure if that's non dyspraxic though, I mostly picked it up from not being able to do much of anything else, co-or...

Yvonne,
Don't worry, I am from Canada and living in Ontario for the past 6 years. Haha- I have dyspraxia with no paperwork to get me into a disability residence, and no license or car --- of course I am living at home with my parents!

Re: Just got dumped by first love and found out I have dyspraxia. Will I ever find love again?

I wasn't diagnosed until I started my Masters in Law, Uni was pretty stressful but alot of staff are usually willing to help you out. It also helps to become friends with people who are pretty good academically, as they can often support you I had a few study groups that helped me get through my un...

Re: Just got dumped by first love and found out I have dyspraxia. Will I ever find love again?

Update: He has a new girlfriend after two months, guess I should have seen it coming as he was always a serial dater. But I trusted him to be single for a while this time around. He told me he wouldn't jump into a new relationship as I meant too much to him to do that to me. But he did just that. Si...

Does anyone here know sign language?

I've been learning it, but it's sooo complicated. So far I know a few words and sentences, and the alphabet, which means fingerspelling is kinda my thing right now. I absolutely love ASL, it's such a beautiful language. Although dyspraxia makes it hard, I think it's helping with my co-ordination, be...

Did you get over your first love?

I'm terrified that I won't. I am only 17 but he was my best friend for five years prior to this. Everyone thought we would stay together, I got a promise ring less than two months before he dumped me. I am in immense pain and almost everything I've looked up is saying first love is the purest, most ...

Re: Prom experiences please?

Update: I've decided not to go. It's all after parties and drinking and that's not me. Ready to live it up in university next year and leave my past behind.
A lot less stress on me now :)

Re: I can't drive automatic?

I also have a huge problem driving automatic. I can- but barely, and if nobody was in the car with me I would surely get in an accident quite quickly. I can drive in a parking lot, very very slowly. And my driving instructor back when I was taking lessons took me on an 80km road and SCREAMED at me.....

Re: Eating Spaghetti

I eat mine with a fork, love twirling. Spoon doesn't work for me either. I can't do ANYTHING with my right hand. And I do mean nothing. Can't hold a pencil or utensils. Weird... considering apparently most dyspraxics are the opposite from what I've heard?

Re: I'm no longer engaged

I've been all over these posts after getting dumped by a first love close to three months ago. How are you holding up now? I'm sure you are AMAZING, beautiful and worthy of a wonderful person that will love you fully and completely and won't leave you for someone new. Hoping we will all find that pe...

How is your heartbreak now?
Hopefully feeling a bit better and have learned to move on considering it's been a few months since this was posted.
Hope things are better now.

Re: Does anyone here have Tumblr?

I do! I had a Taylor Swift fanblog, and also a few personal blogs- they got deleted after I lost my first love, as they were too painful. I have a new one which features my writing.

Re: Chef de Cuisine

Hmm. I make pasta, and microwavable foods. That's about it. I do really love cooking though - really relaxing. I just find it stressful if someone is watching me or in the kitchen with me. I also like baking cookies, although recently I've been pretty bad at that. ](*,)
