Re: Ideas to increase efficiency

Hi Screengreen, First of all I would like to say that in a previous job I worked as an operator on a components placing machine in a circuit board stuffing production line. At my evaluation I got the remark of being slower then my colleagues. I replied to my boss: " That I may work a bit slower...

Re: My coping strategies - what are yours?

Don't really know where to put this post but chose to do it here. About carrying a tray without spilling the drink. The trick I use in a canteen or any other type of tray carrying self service restaurant: Put the drink (preferably in a cup with lid) in the right top corner of the tray. This way you ...

Re: Sleeping, at my wits end, just me?

I also have trouble getting to sleep and waking up. I've had a job that involved working in shifts 06.00 to 14.00 one week and 14.00 to 22.00 the other week. I was late a lot when I had the early shift, having to wake up at 05.00h in the morning. My foreman was not happy with this and after a couple...

Re: Do you drive a manual or automatic car?

I have problems parking as wel, forgot to mention this in my previous post. Especially parallel parking is really hard for me. In Belgium you only need to able to park behind another car en not in between two cars for passing the test. In general I don't like driving backwards because I have no sens...

Re: Medication experiences

Hi screengreen, My therapist is definitely not going to be NHS approved as I live in Belgium. :) Dyspraxia isn't really recognized as an illness here, they call it ADHD with DCD and will treat me for ADHD and not for the DCD. As for the proprioception and AMD you're spot on. (had to google this beca...

Re: My coping strategies - what are yours?

First of all I think it's funny how different people have come up with similar ways of coping. :) Here are some of mine. Because lacking short term memory I also put everything in the same trouser pocket at all times so I don't have to look for it. Left pocket: keys pocketknife lighter, right pocket...

Re: Which finger is longer?

This relates to testosterone levels and i'm interested to see if there is a pattern between testosterone levels and dyspraxia. If there is a pattern between dyspraxia and testosterone level wouldn't all dyspraxic man be very muscular or skinny? And have other signs of high/low testosterone levels? ...

Re: Do you drive a manual or automatic car?

I drive an manual gearshift car and haven't had any problems with it. Must say that in Belgium for being able to drive on your own with a learners permit you have to take at least 20 hours of lessons (10x2h) with a driving school I think that helped me a lot because the teachers are used to bad driv...

Re: Clothing that you hate

I also can't stand wool, because of the itching. I can't wear flip flops because I can't stand anything in between my toes. I don't own a tie, have never worn one. I don't own a lot of buttoned shirts, only wear them for very special occasions like a wedding. Even when I apply for a job I'm wearing ...

You open the door of the fridge, forget what you where going to get and then close the door with your head still inside. #-o Can't stand repetitive noise like a clock. You have developed kind of an stuntman tuck and roll reflex because falling so often. You where surprised the insurance company want...

Re: Losing Your Temper When Doing Stuff & Accidentally Breaking Things

When I loose my temper (I mean really loose it) I have to have somekind of physical release and hit something made out of wood with my fist, although I must say ikea furniture isn't made from wood but from laminated cardboard hence the dent in my kitchentable :) I try to buy only solid build stuff s...

Hi, I'm also an perfectionist and in some jobs that was wearing me down and making me slow. At my current place employment I got the job of testing and quality control and I think this is a good job for me because I can put the perfectionism to good use.
