Re: expression from a woman on chat
Hi Aladdin, As Tom says context is everything and you've not got much to go on especially since i think what she said is is slightly oddly phrased. To me personally saying "I hope you find a girlfriend" means good luck in your endeavours but you've not found one in me, I could be completely wrong ...

Re: Dyspraxia sensory processing versus ASD processing versus ADHD processing
Hi all, yeah is a really complex one I think that's why even trained professionals are often cautious about giving diagnoses. When I was at uni, the local authority ed psych suggested I may have some form of mild higher functioning autism (which was a horrible shock to me) but the uni ed psych and ...

Re: Positive Trait of Dyspraxia
I don't think Dyspraxia affects intelligence just the way we learn because our brains are wired a little differently and the the fact we have to find novel coping strategies we are often good "outside the box thinkers" (my honest and slightly naive response to that statement first time I heard it ...

Re: Would Companys get benefits/money for hiring someone with dyslexia/dyspraxia
I don't think most places get financial reward for taking people with certain "learning difficulties" but they are encouraged by government to have a inclusive employment polices a lot of companies have quoters for the number of people with disabilities they employ and I guess it's good PR.

Re: Motivation, obsession, distraction
Hi Lenore, Just read your post and yes I can very much relate to this for me its my biggest psychological issue and I'm pretty sure its at least in part to do with Dyspraxia. My brain seems operate in one of two modes; either complete disinterest or obsession. In the first instance my brain works ...

Yeah I think it gets all of the important points over and highlights the fact that their are more of us than you might think. Congrats to everybody who has the guts to be in it I couldn't, it'd be nice if it could be made into one of those short informational films you get on T.V. sometimes ...

Re: Solo Travel

Its interesting that you say you went from New Zealand to the Netherlands cos those are the two top places on my list to go, New Zealand especially ...

Re: Studying
Hi Grace, Firstly I'd make sure your college are made aware of your disability at uni I got extra time on exams and coursework and they gave me a Dictaphone to record the lectures and play them back when I needed. Might be worth asking your tutors if they can video their lectures I found most of ...

Re: Treatment of symptoms of Dyspraxia
I've been on sleeping pills before because like you Xenvire I often struggle to switch of until silly o'clock in the morning. I don't take them anymore because I find the sleep I get on them isn't much good and they leave me feeling groggy in the morning now I just go with warm milk and Camille tea ...

Re: Treatment of symptoms of Dyspraxia
Hi Mowgli, Yeah I can definitely relate with a lot of what your saying my memory is sketchy at best especially short term, I'm not so bad with facts and figures but names, dates and faces forget it (no pun intended :) ). I really struggle with my sequential memory so if some one gives me a verbal ...
