Re: Advice

Hey, fellow student here! Scientifically, the best way to learn is teaching (having not really done it my self, I'm being somewhat hypocritical however). Talk to family members/ friends, and try to teach them some of the more complicated stuff that you have trouble with. I don't do many essays howev...

I was told by a swimming coach that I stand weirdly, although I've never really noticed it myself

I love how Chris Pratt went from a loveable slob on Parks and Rec to a genuine sex symbol lol

Re: Did you get over your first love?

I had an interesting though about this the other day, even when I got over her, the girls I subsequently liked for a couple of years somewhat resembled my first major crush. However as ssuma put it, time heals almost everything. Give it time, and you will get over them. Besides, if you're only with ...

Re: I've been living a life of isolation

I agree with Tom, go out and try things, find something you enjoy, whatever it is there will be a club you can join where you can meet like- minded people, and don't over- analyse things. If you do, you'll find it harder to go out and you'll just shrink inside yourself more!

Re: My son

Tell him, I found out when I was 8, and I didn't feel any different from my peers, I just felt it was me, and it was something I would have to get used to it, finding out didn't change the way I acted. I think if you told him that he had dyspraxia, and explain it, it would help him understand himsel...

Re: DATES....Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Dates I'm generally OK with, times are a very different matter. I used to miss a massive amount of music lessons when I was in school because I would forget about them until about an hour later

Good luck, sometimes just having a label for your problems can be a big relief for some people, hope it all goes well :)

Re: Fast learner, but easily bored

Hey, I'm quite similar in many ways, I find studying for a protracted period of time impossible, and I'm always doing things impulsively, rather than planning them. Some degrees record some/ all of their lectures, it's something you could look at, I've missed dozens of lectures on my course so far b...

Re: Artificial Intelligence

Honestly, I don't know a massive amount about the science behind AI, but I agree about the neuroscience aspect. We don't know nearly enough about consciousness itself to begin programming it yet, the idea of the existence of consciousness itself has been a subject for philosophical debates in some q...

Re: Thinking of getting a degree

Hey, JamesAnthony I'm currently at uni and my handwriting is also pretty poor illegible. As a dyspraxic, I get extra time in exams, which means that I can write slower/neater. In addition, I've been given the opportunity to type my answers on a word processor (I prefer pen and paper more though word...

Re: Stupid mistakes on easy tasks.

I know the feeling of stupid mistakes. I always litter exams with them. The classical example I always use is during an A level maths mock, my working was perfect but the answer came out wrong. I went back over it and halfway through I'd multiplied 1*2 and written down 1 as the answer, throwing the ...

Re: Dyspraxia and depression

It's a shame CBT didn't work for you Katie, it's generally much better than drugs and without side effects (MorganK, I would definitely recommend it for you). In terms of pills; people do better with different pills, it's just about finding the one that works for you :) . Hope it works out for you g...
