Re: we have a make up thread - so what about shaving?

I use an electric razor. It's not as close a shave as using an ordinary razor, but far less chance to cut myself . When I used an ordinary razor I had to hold the razor upside down to get a proper shave.

Re: Is it really worth confirming I have dyspraxia?

I'm as certain as can be I'm dyspraxic. The pdoc who saw me last year did a hand test, and after it said I'm quite dyspraxic. My sister has said she thinks I'm dyspraxic . The report I got confirming my Asperger's dx also mentioned dyspraxia. At 62 it's hard to tell what would be gained from an offi...

Re: anxiety and avoidance

I am more than a little prone to avoidance . If it's something new I'll tend to catastrophise and go headlong into avoidant mode.

Re: Is it just me or . . .

For me 'learning disability ' in the UK suggests people with an IQ <70. Unless they've decided to start using the USA definition of 'learning disability' .

Is it really worth confirming I have dyspraxia?

Some background: I am 62 and was recently diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome . The autism assessment report agreed I had signs pointing to dyspraxia NB clumsiness, bumping into things, poor gross and fine motor control, being disorganised and sometimes being confused with information that is given to ...

Re: Did anyone see the derogatory story about a teacher with Dyspraxia who lost his employment Tribunal

I posted about this on a schizophrenia forum I'm a member of. There's a glossing over of the inaccuracy of the newspaper reporting as though it's no big deal.

Felt such a prat

Felt such a prat. Just had mental health check including BP and weight. Stepped on scales which are only a little off the ground and lost my balance. My granddaughter who was with me had to steady me before I could be weighed.

Re: ASD and dyspraxia- how much are they related?

He's a speech pathologist not an expert on dyspraxia , and therefore maybe less qualified to talk about the subject than any of us who experience this.

ASD and dyspraxia- how much are they related?

This is a question I posed on Quora to see what responses there were. https://www.quora.com/Can-dyspraxia-make-it-difficult-for-you-to-organise-your-thoughts To quote the second person that replied : No. There’s been a lot of BS floating around the Internet to the effect that dyspraxia is a learning...

I failed Maths O level first time. I was ok at arithmetic and algebra, but abysmal at geometry. I could never get the hang of trigonometry.
