Re: Table manners
I eat way too fast which is ok at home but when out and about I regularly watch my husband as a cue to what a more acceptable speed should be. I also miss my mouth often or bash the cutlery into my teeth. I usually end up with food down my front and because of this I also tend to lean over my food ...

Declaring disability
Hi all, I just wanted to ask a question with regard to declaring disability on a job application. I recently applied for a job, I have had no reply and have been assuming that I was unsuccessful, but it has occurred to me that I declared my disability - dyspraxia and dyscalculia (also fibromyalgia ...

Re: Job interviews
Thanks again Jim, that's really helpful advice. Will try to get myself back on track and behave properly - even when the new guys join our team

Re: Job interviews
Thanks Jim, I've just been reading your thread and am impressed by you unfailing persistence. Good for you! I've not heard of the STAR technique and it's sound good, exactly what I need as I tend to fail on making it relevant (at least I think that's where I go wrong) What about understanding the ...

Re: Baaargh so fed up and frustrated.
Hi Jim, I've been reading your thread with a lot of interest, I sincerely hope all goes well for you. I just posted a thread about job interviews and wether to disclose my dyspraxia or not - I also work in the NHS and just failed to get a job that I really should have been successful in getting but ...

Job interviews
I'm in a real quandary. I have been working successfully on a 6 month secondment in a role I've always wanted. Before this I was acting above my pay grade for a few years and so was happy to be offered the opportunity to work hard to prove I could do the job. There were no issues with the work that ...

Re: Hello :)
Hi Jim, I thought I'd responded to this post a while ago but I found a couple of posts that I thought I'd submitted aren't here so I lost them somehow. Fibromyalgia is a chronic pain condition with widespread pain being the major issue... It's generally considered to be a problem with pain receptors ...

Re: Christmas... yay....
Thanks Tom, my day did get better but not before my mum searched me out, worried and having noticed how hurt I was. My sister didn't really mean to upset me but was in super efficient mode and somehow it got round to bringing up stuff from when we were kids. We came from quite a dysfunctional family ...

Christmas... yay....
Trying it help with organising food etc with my super efficient sister and mum. Already in tears and have snapped at the first person to mention my laziness and slowness as a kid. Now want to hide away and over analyse everything that was said - wish I hadn't snapped but it's always about me being ...

Re: overthinking things
Yeah, same here and it's almost constant! I worry over every slight that I think some one has said or if they took something wrong and was it my fault and why do they hate me and do I hate them and why can't anybody understand me and why do I always get things wrong!... It goes round and round and i ...

Re: Hello :)
Hi Jim, yeah very serious neck, jaw and shoulder pain but also general pain everywhere else. I have very low pain threshold (hence the fibromyalgia) so the chiropractic work hurts like hell but I'm sure muscle stretches will help. Being at computer most of the time is a huge problem too. Just saw ...

Hello :)
I hope I'm doing this introduction right - am no stranger to computers but each new programme takes time to figure out. Had a quick scout around and this seems like the best place to visit to say hello. Sorry this post is long but like so many others my story is long ! I'm 48 and have struggled ...
