Re: Do any other Dyspraxics get mistaken for Gay?
I'm a genderqueer pansexual and get mistaken for a straight girl. So I suppose you could say I have the opposite problem u_u

Re: What are the 3 things you struggle with most...
Hmm... I'd say memory, organization, and fatigue, which seems strange given that dyspraxia is technically a motor disorder at least in classification, but, I suppose it is what it is. I haven't technically started work just yet, but at college, the biggest deal was and is definitley organization and...

Re: Myers Briggs Personality types
I'm an INFP, though pretty borderline with ENFP depending on the test. The rest of it is consistent though.

care apprenticeship
hey all! as the title would suggest, i recently began an apprenticeship in health and social care; i start work in a few days. now, here is my question: does anyone here work in care and if so, how do you deal with the physical parts of your job? (moving and handling, washing people, etc). i can dea...

Re: when can we have a dyspraxia awareness day?
as pouvik said, i think its best to spread awareness ourselves; although a little help wouldn't go amiss, self-advocacy is a powerful thing. unfortunatley, given the opinions of the autistic people i personally know on the matter, ~autism awareness month~ is mostly a right load of bs dedicated more ...

Re: By eck! A decent news clip on Dyspraxia.
Another clip supported by Fixers, This is done by a young lady called Abi, it's very personalized but no less relevant because of it. http://youtu.be/ssfbXEc3tKc ....I think I went to secondary school with her. The name and voice rings a bell, and we're from the same area, though without seeing her...

Re: Does Dyspraxia relate to Personality Disorders?
However, I am wondering what BPD really means. Is it like cancer, a catch-all. Beatrix, did your doctor say more when you were diagnosed? Like a lot of personality disorders, BPD describes quite a few different things that feed into eachother rather than one specific thing, but the basics (to the b...

Re: Dyspraxia and smiling
For me its the other way around; I always sort of half-smile no matter how I actually feel, because I find it (pshycially) uncomfortable to make a lot of other facial expressions. I think its a muscular thing.

Re: A mother asking - WHAT WORKED FOR YOU?
I'm not sure, because the only subjects I really struggled with were maths and PE, and I dealt with them by the good ol' route of "don't even bother". Though, I will say I always found it easier to learn things in my own time by my own choice, rather than in a class- I'd look up things I f...

Re: Does Dyspraxia relate to Personality Disorders?
Hey, MDS. I think the answer 'does dyspraxia relate to personality disorders' is very much a thing which depends on the person, but it is absolutley possible for a person to have both, if that is what you are worried about. I am actually in a fairly similar situation to you, though my symptoms are d...

Re: Can't work out IN MIND how to do something?
To me personally, this sounds like a kind of executive dysfunction, or something related to it- to be specific, a cognitive deficit in planning and sequencing - if it isn't visuo-spatial. Essentially like when you your flat is a total mess and you look around like "yes okay I need to clean but ...

Re: Empathy and empathetic
Yeah, I can definitely relate to this. I pick up on emotional states, intentions, the atmosphere of conversations and places... almost too much so, I'll pick up on the pain of total strangers on the street, though fortunately I have the social grace not to immediately run to them to play therapist. ...

Re: Little experiment; What do you all do?
I'm definitley creative- I draw, paint, write, design websites and am currently working on an indie game, and also have a very vivid imagination, such that I invent characters and stories in my head whenever I have nothing else to do. That's really just a part of my personality, and has been for lit...
