Re: Friends

I'm pleased that it went OK and it's probably good that, as things have turned out, you've got some space. Hope thaty things go better when she gets back.

Re: Friends

Good luck. I hope this meeting helps clear the air with your friend. Let me know how you got on.

Re: Friends

Glad you get on so well with your co-volunteers, and sorry if I misconstrued/ came across as patronising.

It must be really upsetting with the tension between your friend and your mother. Hope you manage to sort things out with them, as it must be awful to be caught in the middle.

Re: Friends

I find it easier to make friends these days, but it's something I've found hard for most of my life, so I can really sympathise. It must be really difficult with the trouble between your friend and your mum. It's good that you get on well with the other volunteers. Do you ever do anything socially w...

Re: Drunkenness

I cant drink because alcohol induces seizures in me. I'd rather maintain control and get my driving licence back than go on a bender and end up in A+E. Kirsty That must be terrible. My father can't drink for the same reason (althoguh in his case it's not so great a loss as he doesn't like the taste...

Re: Developmental Questionnaire.

Thanks, LJ, for taking the time to explain this and for such a helpful and supportive reply. The questionnaire is very helpful, and I wasn't complaining about it at all when I said I was "confused". I think, though, that what I was getting at is that (like, I imagine, a lot of people who, ...

Re: Developmental Questionnaire.

OK, I'm really confused now. Having done this questionnaire, I'm really not sure if I am dyspraxic at all, because in quite a lot of areas where you'd expect a person with dyspraxia to struggle,I have no problems at all. But I've always felt that I'm not "normal", and many of my teachers w...

Re: Table manners

When I was at school I got badly bullied because of the way I ate. At primary school the teachers and dinner ladies got angry with me for eating too slowly, and at secondary school I kept getting called "disgusting" and a "slob" for the way I handled my cutlery and my food. It's ...

Re: Drunkenness

Sorry for bumping such an old thread, but this one interested me. Am I the only person here to drink more than is good for me? Don't get me wrong, I never deliberately drink to get drunk, and I certainly don't binge drink on a regular basis, but I must admit I have got a slight tendency to drink mor...

Hello and welcome. I'm rubbish on escalators, too, so can't offer any useful advice, but I do sympathise.

Re: newbie doobie doo

Hello, wadaminit, and welcome from another newbie. I really struggle with social situations, too (parties are pretty much my worst nightmare), and usually come across as very, very odd to people who meet me for the first time. For me, though, things really have improved over time - I'm fortunate tha...

hello

Hello, everybody, I'm new, too. I feel a bit of a fraud being here as I don't know that I am definitely dyspraxic - I've never been formally diagnosed and these days (I'm 40) I don't have that many problems coping with day-to-day life, as my fine motor skills are not too badly affected and I've deve...
