Re: frustration

My mum and dad have said that I'm like a square peg in a round hole. I was planning on leaving anyway but to be told things like that. I could have understood if it was issues like organisation/memory/ time keeping etc as these are things which I'm still coming with coping strategies with. My mum an...

Re: Essay Writing

Mind mapping is often really recommended for dyslexic and dyspraxic students as it can help getting thoughts onto paper. There is software called imagination which is really good for this.

frustration

I currently work in year 3 and have been for a while although I'm thinking of going into specialist teaching as I feel the job I'm in atm has no progression and I'm not using the strengths I have. The headteacher came and had a word with me on Friday and said she was struggling where to put me next ...

Re: Need to share with people who understand

I can completely relate to everything you said there I'd be the same, I hate change epecially when it's to do with memory and organisation issues it just throws me completely as I get it stuck in my head where things are as my memory and organisation are naturally so weak. Your boyfriend needs to mo...

My boyfriend does it all the time, I'm not sure he's aware he's doing it. Even more interestingly I'm the dyspraxic one.

Re: Why is it some people just don't understand???

I'm really lucky in that my boyfriend is really understanding I think he deffo has dyspraxic traits himself maybe not enough to get diagnosed so he often does things the same way as me and often is clumsier than me.

Re: Do others have these problems with dyspraxia?

I have dyspraxia and have dyslexic traits too so deffo can relate to what you're saying about the spelling missing letters thing, probably one of the places where the conditions overlap?
My sense of direction is awful too can get me into some amusing situations with my bf.

Re: Wishing people would see past my difficulties

Thanks both for your advice, I don't know why schools in general are so bitchy when they're supposed to be helping kids. I've never really as an adult felt like Im that dyspraxic/dyslexic but its made me really paranoid about if it's really obvious. I've always had really low confidence and self est...
