Re: feeling so ashamed and alone
Sorry forgot to add, is your friend going through difficulties of their own at the moment? They maybe have taken it all out on you but really they are upset about something else?

Re: feeling so ashamed and alone
Hi I'm so sorry you had such a horrible experience! I think it was completely out of order for your friend (and I use the term lightly!!) to film your reaction. I've been on holidays and annoyed my friends because of my dyspraxia too, I never know what to pack and always take the wrong stuff, and I ...

Messy house
Hi, I live with my other half and our kids. I'm extremely messy and have very short term memory so my messiness causes me a lot of stress as i am always losing things. My other half is also messy but he isn't dyspraxic and does remember where he puts stuff, even if it's in the wrong place. I try rea...

Re: Table manners / food issues
Speedless - I get that a lot, not being able to enjoy food cos of being paranoid! I think it's really interesting that I'm not alone instressing about food. Syeda - that's really interesting about the tissues, amongst my circle of friends i'm famous for the amount of serviettes i get through! I thin...

Re: Hello!
I agree with the posts about the GP's attitude, I really wish I'd complained but I was in a very bad place at the time and unfortunately I didn't. It's so horrrible knowing that I can't be the only one who was treated in such a dismissive way. I might have a look into Dore, it's a shame it's so dear...

Re: Hello!
That's so bad!! Surely against codes of ethics for the GP not to inform you (or given your age at the time, parents / carers) of the diagnosis in way that you would have been able to comprehend, and then go on to manage. I'm really horrified. When I went to the GP he said (verbatum) "have you h...

Re: Hello!
Mike, do you mean that you didn't know that you had been diagnosed but staff at your school did? Or that dyspraxia was never fully explained to you? Either way it's not a good situation... And poor you to be made an example of like that! Can really knock your confidence especially if it happens repe...

Re: Hello!
Thank you :) Yes, it was a real 'eureka!' moment, a friend's sibling was diagnosed and I didn't even know what it was, and when they told me I just thought "that's what I have!!". Creative, I'm sorry that you weren't supported. I feel that I was let down throughout school as nobody picked ...

Re: % of dyspraxics who can drive
I can drive an automatic, I find it a lot less stressful than a manual, maybe because there's one less thing to think about. Parking is a nightmare though!

Table manners / food issues
Hello everyone! I was wondering if any other people with dyspraxia have found any coping mechanisms / hints / tips for dining which they could share please? I've always struggled with eating, I was a really messy eater as a child and even now I have to really slow down and *think* about how I'm eati...

Re: Hearing everything all at once?
Wow, this is exactly what I feel like,it's nice to know I'm not the only one! I find it incredibly hard to hold a conversation if I'm in group of 4+ and there's more than one conversation being held at the same table etc. where I'm sitting. I keep having to ask whoever I'm chatting with to repeat th...

Hello!
Hello everyone! I'm 29, female, and living in the UK just outside London. I thought I was dyspraxic for a long time; I went to my GP about it when I was a teenager and he was very dismissive unfortunately, this prevented me from seeking further assistance for several years but eventually I was diagn...
