Pain caused by spicy food and mint
I find both mint (particularly toothpaste) and any spicy food (particularly curry) unbearably painful due to a burning sensation in my mouth, I am aware of the former affecting dyspraxics and autistics, but has anyone else experienced the latter?

Re: Obstacles and challenges faced when visiting the Dentist
As a Dyspraxic, I do have difficulty with having teeth scaled and polished, as having a lot of water in my mouth seems to cause me to "choke" quite a few times each time I go to the dentist. Brushing teeth can also be more difficult for Dyspraxics, due to difficulties with hand-eye coordin...

Re: Can video games help Dyspraxic difficulties?
I am considering studying this subject as part of my university course, where I have to write a research paper, and found this article from 2013 that suggests the wii fit can indeed help with dyspraxia. http://www.techandinnovationdaily.com/2013/06/06/nintendo-wii-fit-for-dyspraxia/ When I was young...

Re: Very fussy eater
I've mentioned before that I have a lot of difficulties chewing different textures, it might be a problem a lot of dyspraxics have. I used to choke a lot on apples and pears, and also had difficulty with the texture of long spaghetti, but no problem with small pieces of pasta.

Hi Fandrews and Saskiaedrienne, sorry I haven't been on the forum for a while, so didn't see your posts. It would be great to have a penpal!

Re: Talking...
I attended speech therapy when I was younger, and learnt most of the different sounds, but never learnt how to pronounce "f" and "th" differently, pronouncing them both as the "f" sound.

Re: Social Anxiety
I have social anxiety as well, particularly in very large groups. Looking at this thread it's clearly a problem a lot of dyspraxics have: http://www.dyspraxicadults.org.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=1889 Dyspraxics have difficulty concentrating on individual voices in crowded places, which can ...

Re: Paralympic Swimming
I have difficulties with most parts of dyspraxia, particularly hand eye coordination, organisation and concentration.
Hopefully more countries will start to recognise dyspraxia in the future.

Is anyone watching Doctor Who this year? Peter Capaldi is very different to the previous doctors, but it will be interesting to see where this series goes!

Re: escalters
I have a lot of difficulty with "down" escalators as well, although I'm fine with "up" escalators. Do you reckon this is a common difficulty for dyspraxics, having to coordinate putting one foot onto a moving platform, then take the other foot off the ground to place it on the es...

A few questions to try and get a discussion going:
Does anyone on this thread have any pets?
What hobbies do people have?
If you could live in any time period what would it be?
