Re: Looking after a house!

When I do them, I usually get praised for how well it's done. I just put so much energy into it that I just want to sit down forever, the fact it takes away all my energy to do anything I enjoy and I never get any help to do them. I'm not entirely sure why I've always found it so hard to attract peo...

Re: Filling the mug with when making a hot drink..

My problem is that I don't compensate - even for the milk! Probably because I've had similar comments to what I've just read a lot of other people have had. The thing about getting half a cup, etc. So I fill the cup with water, and then realise that I haven't left space for milk... Have ...

Re: Novels/Films/TV series

Not sure about neurodiversity specifically, but Vonnegut or Keller are my main go to guys regarding the eccentricities of the human mind. Thinking about it, you might enjoy A Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime if you've not already come across it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ksPDRSnhr...

Re: Talking to people in my head

I've always practiced conversations out loud, not sure whether that's due to anxiety or loneliness or to get out angry feelings, I think it's probably a mixture of all three. I've spoken to several psychologists about it, all of whom have pretty much found it 'endearing' and not cause for alarm as a...

Re: Filling the mug with when making a hot drink..

Who fills mugs to the top? That's weird. Most people would find it difficult to not spill a completely full mug and it's not really advisable for any person (dyspraxic or otherwise) to do so due to it being a hazard.

Re: Lack of sleep?

Yeah, I've been prone to it off and on, but I manage to sleep enough that I've never really considered it insomnia until the past few months were it's all progressed to nightmares and an inability to fall asleep without waking myself up first.

I've started taking trazodone to try nad help.

Re: Looking after a house!

I'm the same. I grew up with neglectful parents, too, so I've never been in an environment where I've been shown how to do it, so I get really stressed out. Wish I could be better but it's unlikely to ever happen as I've developed other health problems.

I dropped out of university for the exact same reason, but I did end up finding work in a field I loved. It's different for me, as I did very well at college so had some good qualifications to market myself, but please don't give up. :( What do you enjoy doing? There are lots of avenues for you to ...

Re: No job at 26, feel like a failure and that the lack of support I've had for dyspraxia is partially to blame.

I'm not sure. Unfortunately, because of the way the NHS is funded, there's a lack of co-ordinated care. I could try, but I've developed some pretty poor working relationships with the doctors I've seen due to health problems building up but having precious little in the way of help. Thanks for your ...

Re: What are you working on?

My boyfriend did something like this in his third year at university. He did a Physics degree, but the code itself was an introduction to Java. So perhaps Java might be worth learning for this? Idk. I'm thinking about learning to code but I'm too anxious right now to do anything. I just have heart p...
