Re: Do you have/want children?

I have a daughter who will be 4 in December. She is very clumsy like me and has had a few broken bones and busted out her front tooth already :( I was always afraid people would think I beat her! She was late on all her motor skills but actually a very early talker. I think she is just like me.

Re: Our view of the world

I love genetics. I like to research anything related to genetics and can do it all day if I had the time. I've been obsessed for about 15 years. I like making collages of photos and I like collections of things, or just things grouped together. I'm not quite sure how to explain that.

Re: Life Expectancy

I imagine our ability to drop things, bump into things, not understand our relationship to time and space may also have an effect! :D I love the idea of being like Rebecca's gran when I'm older though - finally an excuse to be barmy!! I was just going to say that it doesn't affect life expect...

Re: % of dyspraxics who can drive

I can drive, but it was very, very difficult to get to this point. It took almost 10 years. I'm 26, an American and we start driving at 16 typically here. I have to use a GPS to get to and from work and I don't just pick up and drive somewhere. It has to be somthing I have done several times with so...

Re: hi, I'm Melissa

Alleycat, you are so right. It had a huge negative impact on my self esteem. I happened upon this forum by searching on google. I am an American and I see that this is mostly a British forum but Hopefully that doesn't matter. I wish that people were more aware of dyspraxia. It's because people are s...

Re: Telling left from right?

I can relate to every word! I am 26 and I have a lot of trouble with this. I remember my grandmother who was 67 when she died not being able to tell her left from right. I can tell now because I wear an engagement ring, but I have to check that every time.

hi, I'm Melissa

I had never heard of dyspraxia until my sister told me what it was. Her daughter is severely autistic so she happened upon the information. My sister and I are both what you might call "directionally challenged" but it's more than that. I am 26 and I never could ride a bike. I made straigh...
