Re: Religion
My mother was Catholic and my father Protestant but they baptised me Christian. In honest truth though I'm more Spritualist than Religious. If you look around in my room you'll see Pegasus, Unicorns, Dolphins, Natives and Wolf posters all over the place. I tend to observe religion and culture rather ...

Re: Mental Illness
I had been diagnosed with depression a while back and they did offer me anti-depressents then but I told them to stick it up their jackseys :P If I get really low, I usually go see a counsellor. Though its a private one because the idiots on the NHS in my area have a six month waiting list! Not very ...

Re: Hello and advice needed please
I just want to say thank you all for your kind words and suggestions. Having the opportunity to share with others who really do know how it feels not only to face every day the challenges that Dyspraxia brings, but also understands the discrimination and prejudice of others, has been so helpful. I ...

Re: Hello and advice needed please
Welcome to the Forum. Unfortunately you're not alone in matters like this. I was diagnosed with NLD and Dyspraxia as a child and even today its difficult to get anyone to help because it is what's known as an 'invisible disability' and only people who have had contact with others that have Dyspraxia ...

Re: Getting assessed by going to uni/engaging in deception
Self-harming is a seriously bad way of doing things and it isn't going to give you the attention you want. Go to your doctor and demand to be tested for disorders such as Aspergers and Dyspraxia as there are schemes that can test for such disorders. Also you should ask for your file and see if the ...

Hmm..for the fuse blowing twice, I suggest checking the wiring in that area of the house or the wiring in the plug. O:) For dealing with anger though, try working it off with exercise, either having a long walk somewhere you like or go to the gym if you want. Or instead of getting angry at the ...

Re: Dyspraxia, genetics and ... ancestors.
Chimpanzees, Gorillas and Orangutans share 98% of our DNA so its entirely possible that the the Gene for 'spoken language' isn't one of the DNA strands we share. However if you think about it, 'spoken language' to us is language we understand, the formation of words. Each animal, whether it be a ...

Re: Dyspraxia Co-existing with other conditions
Yeah I've been told I have NLD, Dyspraxia and SPI (Spacial Perception Impairment). And Rasin Girl, alot of what you said fits in with the way I am. My thought and action processors are up the creek and I also bang into just about anything if I'm not paying attention. Most of the time I bang into my ...

Re: Driving schools for dyspraxics?
I've been banned from driving because on top of my dyspraxia, I've also got a distance/speed perception impairment which they believe is a side effect from the brain damage I suffered when I was 20 months. :( Before my diagnosis though, the instructor I had was great and seemed to know when I was ...

Re: Concerntration
I've a horrid problem of concentration and multi-tasking. Some days it can be so bad that everything goes out of the window, and anything I'm meant to do I forget to do it. Also with language, if someone is talking to me from another room or is talking quickly, my brain can't process it very well ...
