Re: Organisational tools?

Hello again. I just wanted to add that I've got some ideas in the works and many thanks to Tom for the feedback and thoughts. :) I've set up a facebook page and hope to eventually open an online shop selling the tools. I'm not sure if it's spammy to mention this, so please delete if it's inappropria...

Re: Tying an apron?

I'm not great with tying apron strings either. Don't feel bad. Is there a way you could attach some velcro to hold the apron tabs in place? Or something similar? I'd imagine you'd need to speak to the people at work to get permission but I'd expect it would be classed as a reasonable adjustment for ...

Re: treadmill

I used to go to the gym when I was able to get discounted membership (too dear now) and I had trouble with the treadmill at first, really kept stumbling and struggling to keep a regular pace so I didn't fall over. It's a slightly different problem to yours I know, but what I found fixed it for me mi...

Re: Housework and other things

Hi firemonkey :)
A lot of us struggle with sequential thinking and breaking tasks down.
What sort of tasks do you struggle with?

I'm actually working on some flowchart ideas for helping people like us cope with daily life, I'd be very interested to know some specific examples, if you don't mind? :)

Re: Organisational tools?

Thanks for the suggestions Tom. It's a different angle to how I'd been thinking, so interesting to read.
The app idea has been suggested before but I think that would have to be further down the line, if and when I have the skills and resources for that.

:)

Re: Organisational tools?

Thanks for the reply Tom. See this is interesting, because I hadn't considered flow charts, decision trees or mind maps at all! ;) I'm intrigued to know more about types of flow charts etc that people might find helpful. I like this itinerary idea. I struggle with reading times etc off train timetab...

Organisational tools?

Hi guys, I'm hoping you can help me :) I'm looking into designing some things to help people organise day to day life. They would be sheets you can print out at home (and maybe spreadsheets for the computer too) to help you plan tasks for the day, organise your time, keep track of housework etc.Ther...

Re: Positive stories about work/employers

It's so nice to see this thread getting replies (I feel the need to thank each person and respond individually but perhaps I'm being self important...just cos I started the thread doesn't mean I have to be the hostess I suppose!) Um, thanks everyone. Patrick, your difficulties sound so much like min...

Re: Positive stories about work/employers

That's great Cazza, I'm very glad for you and thanks for contributing to the thread.

I think a lot of us can feel held back by the fear of new employers being less understanding...this is something I'm struggling with at the moment.

Re: Positive stories about work/employers

Hi guys. Sorry I'm late to the party - I'd forgotten about the thread I started (and deleted) which Tom mentions in the OP. I had a very negative experience with an employer in the past which involved me being forced to resign due to my difficulties relating to dyspraxia...so when I chose to disclos...

Re: Hand shaking/fumbling

Hi Liam, thanks for your response :) I think it was a stress thing combined with struggling with certain weights of items (I seem to struggle most with things that are quite light...seems odd I know...) Thanks again for the support guys, I know I tend to start a lot of threads about stuff specific t...

Re: dyspraxia training at work

My memory is pretty bad sometimes too and I can totally relate to what you say about remembering 2 hours later. It doesn't mean you're stupid, it's a symptom of dyspraxia. :) I know it can feel horrible sometimes but don't beat yourself up, it's not your fault. I wonder if remembering things much la...

Re: please help so stressed new job

I'm sad to hear you feel so bad in the new job. I think the problem here is confidence - I've been there myself and it's something I still struggle with now. Please try to remember that everyone makes mistakes - they say you're doing well so obviously there are aspects of the job you're great at whi...

Re: Hand shaking/fumbling

Thanks Tom, I am fairly sure now that it's happening when I feel under pressure so I'm going to work on trying not to panic!
