Dyspraxia and vestibular system: dizzy

Hi, after 46 years, I've just recieved my diagnosis of Dyspraxia from OT. I always knew it but this is something I owed to myself - I had to avoid the clumsy child label which was not so helpful back them. When I was doing my assessment after some of the more physical exercises I felt very dizzy to ...

Dyspraxia without diagnosis

I'm 44 years old and live on my own. I never had a formal diagnosis but the main subtypes fit me like a glove. The condition seems a hotch pitch of different things. In some ways I'm glad I wasn't diagnosed as I have never used as a reason to stop me doing things that are traditionally dodgy areas f...

Re: Empathy and empathetic

Believe me it can be a curse sometimes particularly if it is strong and overwhelming and left turned on. It can be confused for other things, i.e romantic encounters, and makes life seem stranger than it need be. It prevents real communication too, causes awkwardness and at its extreme not founded i...

Re: Empathy and empathetic

Snap. That was exactly what I've been driving at. It's all so confusing. Sometimes I feel its a need to help people, I can see past the masks people put on when behind them there is something darker, but I can misinterprete it for something else altogether with my own feelings and end up making a fo...

Empathy and empathetic

Just wanted to bring these words to the table. I suffer from dyspraxia and find I am very empathetic. This can either be a curse or it can be a gift. Are there any other people on this forum who can relate to these words. I find I can make connections with people without knowing them that well, or c...

Back pain and dyspraxia

Hi does anyone else suffer from back pain with their dyspraxia condition. I have chronic upper back pain and headaches. It causes a great deal of insomnia as it effects other regions of my body - and neural network. My chiropractor tells me it has been caused from poor posture and stiff spinal muscl...

Re: Random moments of energy

I have extremes of emotion - I never have much inbetween. I was very hyper as a child and a problem in school. Nowadays it can be extremely tiresome in professional situations coupled with modulating the tone of voice.

Re: Switching Off

I think its more a matter of processing multiple bits of information very quickly. Though I do have problems with ADHD too. However my concentration can somertimes be very good and I have a good eye for detail. The amount of times I get told off for not listening but can retort by remembering everyt...

Switching Off

Does anyone with dyspraxia get problems with concentration. The other week I had an accident on my bike and could have been killed - luckily no one was hurt and nothing was damaged. Sometimes I find my brain goes on holiday and wakes up moments later when its too late. I find it hard to account for ...

The Theory of Relativity

I'm a newbie. Sorry about the cryptic title but I feel I have at last discovered my problem at the age of 41. I am male and I have had problems talking, hyperactivity, anxiety, clumsiness and not being able to do the things my friends could - e.g. driving a car. I have to think very carefully before...
