Re: Dilemma with doctors, neurologists, Getting required sup

How about swapping places with us for a day even???! My main anxiety in my life is based around doctors and hospitals. After I became very ill last year I was referred to a neurologist and have seen a number of specialists since. However, half the problem is that professionals generally have varying...

Re: Symptoms gradually becoming worse and advice please?

PS: To give a bigger picture of things I occupy my time often around church. I don't like to concentrate on unemployment, there is always something that can be done and approaches to take to being unemployed, from a faith perspective that is. Plus there is enough at the hospital to keep me occupied ...

Re: Symptoms gradually becoming worse and advice please?

I am unemployed at the moment. When I have worked I have normally become so ill after a month of full-time work that things don't work out. And lecture-based training is becoming more and more impossible (as I found out when I received a job offer last year but couldn't complete the training for it)...

Re: Symptoms gradually becoming worse and advice please?

The problem is that, I exercise regularly and I just become more tired overall. My mum does most of the cooking so yes I do eat a huge amount of veg, I drink plenty and normally get plenty of sleep. Also, I graduated two years ago and have still become worse than ever. There is no link between it be...

Re: DOES ANY SLEEP A LOT LIKE 14 HOURS

I struggle a lot with fatigue/tiredness, and pretty much find breathing exhausting! ;-) Went allowed I can easily sleep for 10 hours or more, however, this is only when I'm not woken up earlier by noise in the house so stuck with 8 hours! I'm always looking for ways to help with the tiredness. I hav...

Re: Dilemma with doctors, neurologists, Getting required sup

PS: it certainly looks to me that the neuro- psychologist results will be something to hold on for, but as I said, I am suspicious about what gets passed on from more ignorant doctors (I have been looking at other posts on here and it sounds like others are in a similar boat with experiences with do...

Re: help, local support group?

Have you contacted the dyspraxia foundation, as I know that they have support groups around the country?

Dilemma with doctors, neurologists, Getting required support

I have a problem/dilemma: I was diagnosed with dyspraxia while at university. I have always had the related problems (socially and coordinated related) but as situations have changed, I have just become more and more exhausted and unable to push through ad/or around problems as I had done in the pas...

Re: Mouth not connected to brain

I know the problem myself. Have you tried any type of speech therapy as they may have some ideas/activities that will work on this area. I've had problems with physical formation of words, a stammer and struggles with pronunciation of words. As have been mentioned, calming down if relevant will help...

Re: Exercise

How are you at swimming. I'm no confident swimmer as it can be quite interesting at times when my arms and legs don't coordinate, and I can only just about do breaststroke, but its good exercise to loose weight, but is also good for a variety of other problems. Often there are special sessions for d...

Re: I hate public transport

I struggle with public transport also. So unreliable and tiring! I can legally drive, though whenever I drive depends on how my head is as judgment, perception and processing can be a problem, plus the risk of my panic attacks stemming from these problems. I often have the choice between an unreliab...

Re: Panic attacks

I get what appear to be panic attacks, normally stemmed from sensory overload and my head jams up (like a non-responsive computer). A typical situation is in a cafe where I can't distinguish /tune out between other background noise and my own group's conversation, as another brain is able. I general...

Re: Telephone Conversations

Firstly, I'm so happy to hear that I'm not the only one with these problems. I always find it best face to face, ideally with the conversation directed at me. I find it interesting that more than one person mentioned about difficulties processing through the right ear. I'll try to use the phone on m...

Re: Dore programme

It sounds to me that it may help some depending upon an individual's situation. Regarding what 'londoncatlover' mentioned about pilates and a wobble board, has anyone had any success with that pathway (it would certainly be cheaper I think than the Dore programme if it does help).

Re: Symptoms gradually becoming worse and advice please?

Thank you for your reply. It isn't stess. I finished university years back and I live at home. I have it made to some extent! One thing I have found is the effect of vitamin overdose that certainly is in line with most of my symptoms (can affect muscle function, strength, nervous system and cognitiv...
