Any advice for judging road position/kerb distance?

Does anyone have any tips or tricks for judging where you are on the road or your distance from the kerb? I failed my test today and one of many issues I have is my judgement of road position. I feel like i'm steering in a perfectly straight line and am giving plenty of room to cars but i'm clearly ...

Stupid mistakes on easy tasks.

I started a new part time job around a month ago, it’s working in a library (which is what I want to do) and I thought I was doing okay. Starting to get to grips with everything and getting along with people. It’s the first job I’ve had in a long time that I don’t dread getting up for. This week tho...

You only notice that you're wearing your dress backwards half way through your work day.

Interviews and nerves. I'm better on paper.

Does anyone have any advice on coping with interviews and dealing with nerves? I've been looking for work for a while and I'm finally getting interviews but not getting any further. I've had 6 interviews in close succession that I've been unsuccessful with. Part of that is because of lack of experie...

Did I only get an Interview because of dyspraxia?

I'm looking for work at the moment and haven't been getting very far. I have an interview on Tuesday at a big publishing house and it's the first interview I've had in months, it's also the furthest I've ever got in such a cool company. It's also admin which I've never done in a permanent role and t...

Re: administration jobs and dyspraxia

I’ve had a few admin jobs over the years and have coped but found them stressful. In my experience I was just too slow and clumsy and although no one said anything I felt a bit of a hindrance. I had a publishing internship a while ago which went pretty well until I had to do some basic filing for a ...

[quote="shadowgirl021"I hoped that helped, if not a lot just a little is good and dont let Dyspraxia get you down or get you discouraged, it is a pain and a battle but it is ultimately a battle that we could get through with determination.[/quote] Thanks shadowgirl, it did help! I know re-...

Feeling useless

Does anyone else have days where they just feel completely useless? I’ve had too many days recently where everything just goes wrong because of stupid mistakes on my part. I completely forgot about a meeting I was meant to have with my dissertation tutor today. She’s rightly angry at me especially a...

Re: Lack of friends

I definitely have the same the same problem; it’s quite common for people with dyspraxia to have social problems. As for why I think it’s a combination of things and it’s probably different for everyone. I’m certain that my problems don’t stem through any autistic or aspergic traits and I don’t have...

Should I try to get another diagnosis?

Just before Christmas I went to be tested through my Uni for dyspraxia which I most definitely have; I was given a list of suitable testers by the uni and was diagnosed with dyslexia with dyspraxic type weakness. The lady who did my test is a special ed. teacher and only told me at the time that I’d...

Tips for Studying at Uni and keeping organised.

What are every ones best tips for keeping themselves organised and on task with Uni work (or any kind of work)? I feel a bit stupid asking because I’m doing an MA and should probably have some kind of technique by now: I’ve only just been officially diagnosed but don’t really know what to do with it...

Little things making me feel stupid at work.

I’m doing a work experience placement in a publishing house. I’m doing an MA course in publishing and I know I’m going to find aspects of it difficult because of poor organisation etc. But it’s little motor skills based things that make me look like an idiot. Everything’s been going fine on my place...
