Re: Memory issues

Is anyone else's memory a bit weird? Example. If someone gives me a list of instructions I quite often struggle to remember them all. However, I seem to retain tons of useless information without really trying - e.g I can reel off all the US presidents, Kings and Queens of England, details of TV sh...

I have I have!

She was a customer at my work. :)

And she had acquired dyspraxia which she got after she was about 20 or so.

I was somewhat chuffed, and at the same time annoyed that I didn't ask her all the questions I wanted to ask someone with acquired dyspraxia...

I think my next laptop will be a macbook pro. in those, the keys aren't printed on, but they're holes in for light to show through when its dark! So you can't wear them off. http://www.apple.com/uk/macbookpro/desig...

People with learning difficulties usualy have IQ's of average and above average intelligence (what ever that means). ARGH This one is going to drive me nuts eventually. There is a spread of people with dyspraxia and other learning difficulties across the intelligence range, eg there are very intell...

ARGH

I've been dong resits at the moment, and after the one on Friday I was worried about whether my handwriting will be readable ( this has always been a problem, and it cost me about a grade in every subject in my A levels ). I sent an email to the educational psychologist who did my assessment and ask...

Re: After your help please!!

1). Throughout primary school, how did your dyspraxia impact upon your language and literacy development. Like most people this is a long time ago, but for some reason my childhood is a lot clearer than most people in my memory. At that stage quite a bit can be masked, also the trendy approach to t...

I had a 40min session with a stroppy educational psychologist (through the university, I didn't get a choice who to see) just before christmas. It didn't help that she started the session of telling me she didn't see the point in testing for dyspraxia ](*,) She gave me about 30mins of wais (is it w...

I've found it a good yardstick for whether someone knows me well. If they do, then they usually know what I was intending. If they know me slightly, they make ask me to repeat it. If they don't know me at all, they ignore it and don't speak to me again :-). What did drive me nuts is that people ofte...

First of all, well done! Not many people have managed to get to the stage you have so far, and it takes a lot of personal honesty to analyse what you do and come to the conclusion that you're not stupid, merely different. Secondly I got diagnosed myself a month or so after I was kicked out by my mot...

The Dyspraxia Wikipedia Page

Come'on! It needs some serious editing. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dyspraxia For those who haven't come across the loveliness of wikipedia.org yet, its an online encyclopedia that *anyone* can edit. It has safeguards to prevent vandalism on certain topics and on some pages it works really damn wel...

At the rate we're going we'll soon have enough members in Reading to start a club or something! it might be because the study advisers at the university are recommending this website... ;-) As regards the noise thing... I hope that my rejection was not due to my dyspraxia, as well. I had taken the view that it was more likely due to the fact that my application was sent towards the end of the deadline and after most of the interviews had taken place. however, the reason i posted my experience was to interject the ...
