Re: Religion

Christened C of E, attended a Catholic Church for a while, went to a Baptist youth group, and got fed up of the various demoninations slagging the other ones off (I tended to lean towards the argument that, as the Catholic Church was there first, the other denominations kind of owe their existence t...

Re: Holiday Destinations

I suppose it depends if you have any climate preference, but I went to Copenhagen in 2009 and loved it - very expensive, but a wonderful city!
I had a lovely holiday in Malta some years ago too, well worth a visit, though it was far too hot for me really.

Re: Shameless self promotion

Thanks for plugging this - it was an interesting article. Sorry about some of the idiots you had commenting on it - guess you can't win 'em all... Well done for rebuffing them in an intelligent and reasoned manner though!

Re: The Dentist

Ugh, I've only used them once, way back in school - out of two classes of 30 kids, I ended up having a dodgy reaction to them and started throwing up everywhere! I stress, I was the only person this happened to, and the dental nurse who came to the school said she'd never seen anyone react tha...

Re: Intro

Hello and welcome to the forum jpmw!

Was it Irlens syndrome, the other condition?
I was also diagnosed when I went back to uni - I think there's a number of us on here who that has happened to.

Hope you enjoy your time on the forum :)

Pssst, LMB14 - ND means Neuro-Diverse - a time applied to those who are 'wired differently' to Neuro-Typicals (NTs - 'normal' people!). Hope that helps!

Re: Hey I have a question about spelling

Hey agsiul - not just you! 1. Not just the way you describe it, but the other way round - whilst I generally am an excellent speller on paper (typing errors don't count - that's my sausage fingers on the keyboard!), I can't spell out loud for the life of me! With young nieces and nephews, this is pr...

Re: Dyspraxia And Physical Fitness

I was fine when I worked in retail as being on my feet kept the weight off. Now I'm in an office, I'm 2 and a half stone heavier than when I started 5 and a half years ago. I eat helathily, it's just the lack of exercise that gets to me. Over the summer, I decided to join a gym. Within a matter of w...

Re: Eating

Oh goodness yes! I don't have a problem with different foods touching (unless they are hot and cold - why someone would want ice-cream on a nice warm fruit pie I just can't understand!). But I will often eat one item first in its entirety before moving onto a different part of the meal (i.e. if I ha...

Re: Hello from a MPhil Student

Hi Euphena and welcome to the forum - I think it's safe to say that if you're doing an MPhil then you're not stupid! I hope you learn some more about the condition from here - there's not a huge amount of info out there! I don't know about your uni, but mine (Cardiff) has a book called "Caged i...
