Re: Small coordination differences day to day

Hi, I’ve noticed that my coordination can feel quite different from one day to another. On some days, simple things like using utensils or typing feel fairly natural, and on other days the same actions take more effort and concentration. It’s not a big issue, just something I’ve become more aware of ...

Re: How to date not being able to drive? (Man)

I too am a non-driver due to visual impairment. Dating is definitely more challenging and some ladies can't see past me not driving. That's their loss but it still v much hurts to be dismissed as it makes us compare ourselves. [url removed by Adminl I don't think there's an easy answer but I'm sure ...

Re: Dspraxia Foundation regrettably no longer available

It's approaching two years since the demise/collapse of the Dyspraxia Foundation

Most of my time here sadly seems to be devoted to removing spam posts and banning the authors responsible.

Re: Realising I’m Dyspraxic - now what?

I’m 55 and just realising this week that I’m almost definitely dyspraxic and wondering what that means going forward, if anything. I guess the biggest question might be whether and how to reveal it in situations where it might explain to others why I’m struggling, or need extra support. My main stru ...

Re: Learning to drive advice /support

Hi everyone just need some support or advice Basically I've been learning to drive for almost a year and I knew it was gonna be difficult but I think my last lesson hit me with the comment my driving instructor made. In my lesson I did 3 really hard test routes one I've never done before and two it ...

Re: Does anyone else find technology difficult?

Hi Adam

Welcome to the Forum which itself can feel illogical In the way it works.

So often IT is counterintuitive and or can seem to do strange things of it's own accord.

Anxiety and/or overwhelm also tend to badly effect our human memory so it's very much a vicious circle

Online dating

I've always found dating including the online preamble especially challenging, even anxiety inducing.

I definitely see traits of Rejection Sensitivity Dysphoriia which is something that's talked about in the ADHD community though doesn't have formal recognition.

Re: Just lost my job! :(

Hi Josh Sorry to hear that your job didn't work out. The very notion of my working in hospitality trying to keep the general public, at their very worst, happy, frankly scares me! Finding a good employer who is willing to support our development and growth is especially important, but all the more ...

Re: New house problems

One thing you might consider is creating a more organized and clutter-free space. Maybe rearranging furniture to create clearer pathways or using soft barriers (like cushions or mats) in areas where you tend to trip could help minimize accidents. It might also be worth discussing with your partner ...

Re: Tips for trying to help someone understand dyspraxia?

Another way to look at would be what would you say to a friend or family member if they told you they were in this situation with their partner?

Unfortunately you will encounter people who will not listen and who can only see explanations as excuses.

Re: Tips for trying to help someone understand dyspraxia?

I'm concerned you are clearly trapped in a coercive and abusive relationship with this 'man' (I hesitate to use that term).

Please get help and support. He needs to accept you and your dyspraxia.

Believing that you/your condition are the main/only problem(s) is deeply concerning.

Re: Does anyone else struggle with technology?

. [Suspicious url removed by Admin] Paul It really does feel like the world is moving too fast for people who prefer simpler, more accessible technology, and your experience shows how frustrating that can be. Touch screens and smartphone menus can be overwhelming, especially when companies assume ...

Re: To all members

We politely tequest that use of terms like suffer with are avoided.

Vomiting and diahorrea are examples of symptoms. Dyspraxia is not an illness or a disease and saying or suggesting dyspraxia fall into either category is wholly unacceptable.

Many thanks for your attention to this matter.

Re: emotional overload

Welcome.

Emotional overload and/or being prone to overthinking and even burnout is quite common.

While it can be viewed as something autistic it can definitely affect those of us who have dyspraxia and/or ADHD too.
