Re: Finished.

Glad he is better

I would press the agency to ask why this has happened. Unfortunately via an agency you likely have a lot fewer rights than a directly employed person and your tenure is very much at the whim of the client company with whom the agency place you.

Re: Finished.

Unless you emailed your boss personally the email may not have reached the right person quickly enough. Do you know if he/she received your email?

I would seriously go to see your boss to explain in person and/or write to HR people to give your account of what happened.

Re: Finished.

Sorry to hear this and I can understand that popping into work to inform your boss/management in person about the circumstances for your absence was unlikely to have occurred to you given you were understandably preoccupied but you have to ensure you let your employer know that you needed to deal wi...

Re: My Blog

Hi Sam Looking forward to reading more from you. I know a little about Camp America insofar as I met a few people who'd done it and were taking a break and joined Trek America small group holidays that I went on. This was before I really knew much about/understood my own Dyspraxicness since all but ...

Re: Feeling terrified

Please try not to feel fearful of saying no and meaning it. It puts you in a position of power. Aso make sre to formally ask for a copy of your terms of employment. They are legally obliged to provide you with a copy of these.

Re: Fighting sports

Thanks for your considered response and sorry you felt offended. I agree 'Gaytarded' should be consigned to the dustbin. Pissed in American English is used to describe being annoyed, rather meaning drunk in British English. As you say we make it through the storm in our own way and need to find a po...

I have, in the past had, jobs/bosses that have made me want to cry and it is horrible and unnecessary that they cause it to get to that. I hope you en...

Re: Feeling terrified

It's your decision and you do need to be mindful of your health and happiness and put them first. That said it's easy for me to say, as I work in an office where I'm more in my comfort zone. Having work is important to me and I reckon I would feel like you if I was in your situation. Take care and t...

Re: Fighting sports

. . . I'd love kicking people in the face, and I'm pretty tall with pretty long legs, so kicks-oriented martial arts are more appealing to me. But I'm pretty open as long as you can hit people. What I'm aiming through that : a way to do some cool moves in moshpits, spending my nerves, empowering my...

Re: Is Anyone Sensitive To Noise or Odors?

Generally speaking I don't think my sense of smell is all that good. I would expect my colleagues to say I'm the noisy one though who I'm stressed I think I'm more affected by distractions.

I believe it is true that many people are more prone to sensory overload.

Re: Feeling terrified

So if you could get an appointment with your GP and he/she signed you off sick with stress, or you just said I've had enough of this, and walked out* would they have to recall her from her week off? * Not sure if your contract would allow you to do this and I imagine you'd lose pay. If you are emplo...

Re: Feeling terrified

So is she off this coming week for her 'well deserved break'? Who are your other team members and is there another supervisor you can speak to about the difficulties you experience with creative practical activities, the anxiety this is causing you and how you feel about the way she speaks to you? I...

Re: Feeling terrified

Please tell your boss or someone above her, about how this/she is making you feel. It is likely as much the atmosphere as the long hours and if that is improved your resilience can improve too. It is worthwhile speaking to your GP or someone about how you feel as your health and happiness are the mo...
