Re: Anybody got Kids

Some would say lowering standards is cynical advice but I guess it’s born of self preservation to an extent in that people can and do change let you down or disappoint. On the other side of the coin you have to be careful of putting someone on a pedestal as they may feel uncomfortable and worry they...

Re: Texan Dyspraxic

You’re welcome. Thanks for the Interesting story and I guess it shows we can potentially all find a place for ourselves though the journey may be long and difficult with many pitfalls along the way. Maintaining faith that you will come through is always the hard part.

Re: Employee of the Month.

Would imagine there are a lot of people who would object to cleaning a smoking area but under the terms of your contract can you refuse? Is there an opportunity to get a standing about job and can I get one? Actually I find I need to be doing something all the time at work so it would drive me to di...

Re: Paranoid?

Hi Susan It is hard to not take things personally sometimes as the internet and social media are always on and promise instant real time communication. Unfortunately there is so much in both the online and real worlds We might be flavour of the minute hour or day but then people are drawn away by th...

Re: Intense Intolerance

A lot of people don't really know what to say or how to say it so may try to fill silence with inane smaĺl talk. You could indulge them with a full run down or just say I had this what did you have? Now **** or get off the pot. I find I have a tendency to put things off if I am worried or vexed by t...

Re: Are There Any Other Americans On this Site?

Heated debate is good 8-) If at least some of those taxes we pay go to helping to provide a safety net for those who are less fortunate is that not a good thing? I think the Us and Them causes unfair friction between the haves and have nots and but for the grace of god we might find ourselves needin...

Re: Anyone need mobility aids?

Sorry for late reply We’re all affected differently and may also be affected by other non related or indirectly related conditions. I think this question might be better answered by an OT and/or your GP or possibly a Podiatrist

We’re Pleased to Welcome you here to our site/community. Do Beware some of us here are heathens (but I don’t bite much). I find people tell me all sorts as I’m fortunate in that I seem to be able to put people at ease and try my best not to judge but to try to understand the other persons perspective.

Are you with the NHS and If you feel comfortable answering, how would you rate them in their provision of support?

Sounds dodgy it would drive me mad. I can expect myself to be a bit disorganised as is everyone but if it affects people’s safety comfort and convenience my tolerance can really run out

Congratulations on at least getting recognition of your contribution.
Is anyone else concerned about the additional work being committed to and how the company will manage to fulfill the requirements to the required standards?

Not a task to be relished and while I manage ok I think I too find it awkward/difficult.
Given your difficulties can you get a podiatrist to do this for you as part of your care package?

Re: Why am I so socially awkward

Hi Chris and welcome. It all comes down to the dreaded C word - Confidence. I’m not one for small talk and typical conversation openers such as: What do you think about x sport? Or What car do you drive? Or Tell me about yourself? (Aaaarrrghhh Eek!) are closed topics or conversation killers to/for m...
