Re: Talking too loudly at work

Hi and welcome I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing this. Can I ask a question - If this was happening to a colleague would you consider it to be bullying or harassment? Do you have any colleagues or someone else at your place of work who you could help you with explaining that you are trying to do...

Re: Your thoughts about this site?

I think it's a lot to do with confidence. Quite a few people arrive here at a very low ebb and may not feel able to offer anything they feel is worthwhile. I'm inclined to disagree on that point as I strongly believe we all have different experiences of the same sorts of thing and I won't have affin...

Re: Do any of you have weak ankles?

I find my ankle(s) will sometimes 'roll' causing me to stumble. I believe I've read it is quite common with dyspraxia

Re: So slow at work, how on earth do I explain this?

It is a really difficult condition to explain and many of the examples are things everybody typically does from time to time difficulty being it's tends to be more the rule than the exception. The other annoyance is that many consider it to be a condition you should 'grow out of' The Dyspraxia Found...

Re: I find a lot of two handed tasks difficult?

Dexterity and coordination are inter-related. Dyspeaxia affects us in different ways both physically, emotionally, psychologically and we cope (or struggle) in our own unique way. If you find it easier to stop and put your backback down first, that is actually being more practical and sensible than ...

Re: Don't know if I should disclose please help!

My dyspraxia makes me a frustrated perfectionist and a pedant too. If you're convinced you'll be let go anyway, why not try disclosing? She/they may be more amenable to your admission than you give her/them credit for! Hell I'd even venture there is a large gap/gaping chasm in the market to help tho...

How might your employer react if you requested a 20 min gap between sessions for all. Could this benefit your colleagues and clients too?

Re: Hi everyone I'm new

Glad you've found us too. I ''ve seen it suggested that 50% have ADHD. I guess I have traits of ADHD but no formal diagnosis as not pursued/deemed appropriate in my case. I was under the impression Dyspraxia was more generally recognised as DCD in the US but I guess the notion that you can therefore...

Re: bad day at work feel like crying:(

I completely get it. I've been having a very difficult time at a job I just started in September. The irony is that I am great at my actual job but not good with learning computer systems. There is a lot of documentation associated with this job, and navigating the computer system has been extremel...

Re: My brain moves too fast

The balance between speed and accuracy is always a difficult one and I suspect quite a lot a lot of people dyspraxic (or not) struggle. I'm not a copywriter myself but I need to digest and organise information in written form and make a correct recommendation or carry out instructions in line with a...

Re: Dyspraxia and stress - is this normal?

Sorry didn't reply before, thanks for update Ben, and pleased you're feeling better. I have been struggling quite a lot at the moment, and not back at work yet. I'm annoyed with myself really, but we have had a difficult few weeks as my uncle died just before Christmas. It has hit me harder than I ...
