I am 54 I have only recently found out that I am dyspraxic I am trying to get an assessment GP does not really understand why I want one. I want to know what is dyspraxia and what is not. i also want to know if things like bad memory get worse as I get oldr .

I am waiting for confirmation of Dyspraxia although I am certain I have it and I have just found out that I have had ME for several years now which explains why illnesses lay me low for so long

I cannot handle hot things at all or cold. I am always feeling either hot or cold rarely comfortable. I cannot cope with very hot weather ( and I am talking hot for scotland)

my mother had a very high threshhold to pain I think I am more or less normal on pain. I cannot stand itchy labels or wool next to my skin. I am ok with touch except I hate ear phones that cover your ears! we are all a bit different on this I think .

I also tend to just abandon sentences without finishing them. I find that I know what I want to say to someone in advance but when I start talking to them their interuptions confuse me and I never say all I intended to. I only stammer when I am almost hysterical which is very very rare.

I hate waiting for deliveries or workmen as I cannot settle I am on edge the whole time. i hate last minute changes in plans as I find them very difficult to cope with.

I am finding this very helpful. I do have a short fuse at times. I have learnt over the years that for me it is panic as I feel things are getting out of control or because I am confused as people are saying opposites or changing their minds and I cannot handle it. Sorry I cannot help in detail as I was a secondary maths teacher in the scottish education system and I do not know anything about your job really. Look after yourself I kept going in teaching because I felt there was no other option but I had to leave because of ill health and it is taking me years to recover. Explore new career options and even going part time for health reasons if you can afford it. It may take years to find another career ...
